Being a bit early for work this morning I was checking email on my ipad when I came across a "Going Out of Business!" email from Hancock Fabrics. I moaned "Oh no" and my male coworker asked what was wrong. I explained that a fabric store was closing and he (trying very hard to work up some sympathy for me) shook his head slowly and said "Oh, and that's not something you stock up on! Is it?"

Having earned a place on the MIA list here on QWU, I would like to lay to rest the rumor that I am dead, having suffocated under a pile of fabric in my sewing room! (Okay, I came close but managed to crawl out from under my stash just in time.) Work takes more of my time than it used to, which allows me a little extra ca$h to play with, but less time to play.
I am trying to actually quilt some of the tops that I've made. I came across a very good deal (almost makes me feel…

I've been trying to get "back into" quilting after a brief start and a long absence. I have a Pfaff Grand Quilter (midarm) machine on a Grace frame. To use with it I have a (red box) Quilter's Cruise Control. Even tho I haven't used it a friend has, so I know that everything is (was?) in working order. Problem is the O rings for the CC rotted off. I have new ones but cannot for the life of me figure out where or how they go on!!! The contact person - email -…

I've been soooo out of touch, haven't even been on the computer too much. I get on and read when I can, but rarely take the time to comment. Thirty lashes for me! Sewing time is also short, and I don't feel like I accomplish much. I am working 5-6 hours a day, I don't know how you full timers find time to sew/quilt! Kudos to you!
I do have an embroidery machine now, and enjoy that very much when I get the chance. I never thought I would have an embroidery machine. I always…

Hope everyone's Easter was good. I enjoyed it very much with family and friends, and the weather was perfect! I'm on school/work break this week, trying to "catch up" (I know, hysterical, aren't I?) on some sewing. I'm especially trying to use up fabric that I already have. Made a pair of PJs for Piper that she won't wear because they're "too loose, Gramma!". I like loose PJs, Piper likes hers tight! Who knew? I'll see if the little girl down the street likes them.…

Nice to hear from you. The gals were great in Cicero. They had a huge class going when I was there. Don't think they had enough people in Fayetteville. Interested in classes. I did a dumb thing with my machine. Luckily, it didn't harm anything except the needle threader. I can't see so need that !!!! It needed serviced. Hope your summer is going well. Seems like the days are going so fast.
Hi there...miss seeing your posts. Hope everything is going well!
Summer seems to have flown by. Thank goodness Piper has you to help her. I know this is very stressful for you and your hubby. Just know that we are here to listen...stop in when you can.
Hey lady...haven't seen you post in a long time. Everything okay??? Miss ya!
Terry even though this is a quilting forum I would love to see the garments you make for your grandchildren. Or anything else you happen to make. I have only made two bed (queen size) quilts since I took my first quilting class in 2000. And would you believe I don't own a quilt? The two I made were given as gifts. I still have much to learn in quilting. I'm working on a baby quilt that I will be posting in a few days. I like the smaller projects like baby quilts, table runners etc.
Good morning-Wanted to wish you and your family a Merry Christmas. Is your son still in the service? Hope he is States side and safe. How are you feeling? I have just started feeling like I should...still have a slight cough. That was a nasty bout! Enjoy Piper and all the antics they throw at us!!!
Terry: Thank you for your nice comments. I just finished my two baby/mom nursery quilts and I'm happy with how they turned out. My top is cotton, batting is one layer of flannel and the back is minkie. I cut my binding at 2-1/4" folded it in half and pressed. I then surged the edge of the quilt sandwich. (it was already quilted) I decided that would help with the minkie poop. (It's really really messy) Then I sewed my binding to the back, wrapped it to the front and used my edgestitch/walking foot to machine sew the binding on the front side with a straight stitch close to the edge. I did use some Roxanne's basting clue to help hold the mitered corners and I also used those little red binding clips. Overall it was easier than I thought...will post photo tomorrow. I'm to poop to do it now. Hope that helped a little...let me know if you have any other questions.
How are you doing? Did they ever give you a diagnosis? This has been a killer lung disease.
I sure hope things are getting better for you...the loss of your mother hurts so much. Take care and give yourself all the time you need.
Morning Terry, Yeah it seems lately if it wasn't for bad new, I wouldn't have any at all. lol But prayers are being answered. There is another chiropracter within five miles but I went to him once and he did more harm then good. And others have said the same thing so I thought I would try this one who came highly recommended. I have one more treatment and I might not keep that one if I'm taking my sister for radiation. I am feel better.
