Little Peter is doing well. He's still in the NICU but they are thinking of moving him to another hospital since he's not as critical as other babies. He now weighs 3 1/2 lbs. and has a hole in his heart, which is fairly common for premature babies. They hope it will heal on his own or he'll need surgery later. His parents hope to have him home in July.
I have not checked with you for a couple of weeks. I just read what you had to say about the babies. I am so sorry for your family. It is so hard to loose someone but for it to be a child it makes the pain so much worse. Time will lessen the pain but the memory will always be there.
I feel sad and helpless. My niece and her husband do not want calls or visits as they are too emotionally fragile, and I totally respect that. Of course, it's way to early to visit little Peter. How do you say congratulations and condolences at the same time???? Today, I made a donation to the hospital in honour of both babies....
Thanks, everyone. My great-nephews were born on April 4th at 26 weeks. Little Henry was less than 2 lbs and died from an infection. Little Peter was 2 1/2 lbs and is in the NICU at Women's College Hospital. They are still waiting for Peter's blood test results but have started antibiotics anyway. He's doing well, all things considered.
Terry - Thanks and glad you like the baby quilt. It was alot of fun to make. I've been in my log home less then 2 years and just love it. We have been planning and looking for 15 years for the right place for us. We found it! The cat came with the house and the dog came from a friend who was moving to an apartment and Macie needed a bigger place to play. She loves having 8 acres to run on all day long. They are both sweet pets.
