Thanks for the comment on my "All Bits and Pieces Great and Small".

The pattern that was my inspiration was Sew Scrappy by Darlene Zimmerman, it was in the February 2010 American Patchwork and Quilting magazine.  I didn’t follow it exactly, but it’s where I got the general idea.

Hi, Trudy--you shouldn't feel bad at all--how wonderful to hear that you are busy with such happy things after the long time you and your DH went through!  My goodness, you are definitely doing well in the grandma race, aren't you?  I'm way behind on that one, with DD still in college and DS in grad school now.  He will finish next summer and can begiin teaching high school biology DD is very busy with school and her boyfriend.  She spent a month in Austria this summer on a study abroad trip.  I've spent much of my summer helping my parents--my Dad died last Sunday after a long fight with dementia/strokes/arthritis.  The last month was really hard, but we had wonderful help from hospice.  I will miss him a lot b/c he was such a special person and a great dad, but we've been saying goodbye to him for a long time now.  My mother plans to stay on in their house for the time being, so i'll b seeing her as often as I can.  Other than all that, I'm quilting when I can, spending time with DH, and good stuff like that.  Take care---will be keeping an eye out for you!

Trudy,

It's been a very long time since we had any communication.  My brother's oldest boy,

Bobby is gettng married this weekend in Menomonee Falls, WI.  I have heard your weather has been hot and humid of late.  It is an outside wedding - hope the weather breaks soon.AZ has started our monsoon season - we in the west valley have been missed by the recent dust storms.  I can fully realize the baby quilting projects you have

on your plate.  I am currently working on a quilt for a baby girl (will post pictures when complete).  Pastel colors made it the perfect choice for Emma Lynn.  I have another quilt to make - bay due December 24th - my husband Joe's birthday.  Still waiting to find out

if it's a girl (ladybugs) or boy (sailboats).  Both should be fun to create.  Happy quilting.

Nancy

Chouteau is a county on the east side of Glacier.  My home is on the very NW corner of Motana (7 miles from the border)  between Eureka and Rexford so we are a distance away.

I don't remember a name for the breeze, other than we called it "the refrigerator effect".  lol

We actually lived in a suburb on the eastern side of Erie.

About Me
I'm absolutely addicted to quilting! I've been sewing for over 40years, quilting for the last 27. I machine quilt for others as a hobby. Married over 33 years to the most talented and smartest man, we have four grown children, all married. We also have eight handsome grandsons and six beautiful granddaughters!
I'm a Christian, I love most things domestic, LOVE milk chocolate candy, reading, walking, Big Band music, Michael Buble and olidies rock, and fabric!
My husband and I had a few different businesses in the automotive industry for 25 years, but during that time he also taught himself everything about computers and loves to program them. I could list all of his other talents and everything else he's done, but that would take pages, and this is supposed to be about me I guess.
I belong to our local quilt guild, have served as secretary, a board member three times and newlsetter editor four times. I worked at our local quilt shop for a brief stint and have made numerous samples for them as well. I also belong to one daytime group that meets once a month in each others' homes, Ladies of the Day! You can see what kind of a sense of humor these ladies have. They are some of my closest friends, even thought most of them are closer to my mother's age.
Hobbies and Interests
quilting, applique, machine quilting, embroidery, general sewing, gardening, other, general crafts, garment sewing
My pets are awesome!
No pets at the time, but I do love dogs!

Catching Up...

Wow, here I thought I literally had not posted anything on here in a year, only to see I actually posted a little over two months ago!  That's still not great, but better than I thought!

I do still read posts, even if I don't comment on them, it's been nice knowing what all of you have been up to.  Seems like the talent is getting bigger all of the time by the looks of all of the gorgeous quilts I keep seeing on here!

The last couple of months were quite busy.  There were rounds of sickness going on throughout our children's families and between DH and I.  That seems to have finally settled down.  Then we had another cancer scare with my mother, which turned out to be a false alarm.  Quilt jobs are picking up again and I'm slowly catching up on old projects and finishing them, then usually giving them away or donating them to charity.  It feels good to feel like I'm moving forward in my life again!  I know that many of you understand this feeling, seems we all get hit with 'life' every so often and things get out of hand.  Of course with all of the grandkids we've had baptisms and birthday parties galore!  It's been fun though, DH and I say every day how blessed we are to have such a wonderful family and to have them living so close by!

DH and I are thinking a lot about our near future now, figuring out what kind of place we want next and where we'd like to live. We will stay in the area, but we definitely need a bigger place!  Family gatherings are getting quite large and this place is a bit cramped for 19 people.  We are both in agreement that wherever we are, we'd love a big yard again, with a lot of the 'fun stuff' our old place had.  I didn't know if I'd feel much up to dreaming again after everything we went through a couple of years ago, but it feels good to know that I can and actually want to!

Keep up the great work, keep posting so I can see what you all are up to, and take care of yourselves!
