Thanks for the information about the Mayo Clinic website. I'm going to check it out when I finish this note. I had a dear niece named Vera Mae, and I think she was the only person with that name that I knew. I don't know why my parents named me Valma. I have to check all legal papers to make sure it is spelled right, and try to pronounce it very plainly. Though I've been called Alma, Wilma, Thelma. If I'm being called to eat, I'll answer to any of them!
were you near ignace, onatrio? there are two 'sturgeon lakes' in ontario, one in the north, one in the south. we are quite a ways from ontario. we live in northern saskatchewan. my husband is from thunder bay, ontario, which is near the northern 'sturgeon lake'. it's about a 16 hour drive to thunder bay from where we are. i have an aunt from spearfish, sd. she lives in montana now, but still has family in the area. i've always wanted to see the black hills. i think that it's such a beautiful place! there are so many wonderful things to see in both of our countries! so much to see, so little time.....
I understand about the 24/7 thing--my DH is also home all the time. It was challenging at first because I was still home schooling my DD, which demanded most of my time during the day. He had to get used to the fact that I couldn't just drop everything and go. He also had to deal with 3-4 hours of her piano practice. Now DD has left for college and I'm really glad he is here--the house would be too empty and quiet with just me here during the day.
take care of yourself today vera!!! have a nap, read a book, have a nice cup of tea, whatever you need to do to get through the day! it's only one day, tomorrow isn't far away.
Vera was it you who asked about posting pictures? In the top right corner you have a little box with Quick Add at the bottom. If you hit the arrow down it will give you a drop down menu. On that menu you have photos. If you hit photos, it give you a pop up for add photos. You browse where your photos are and add them. Hope this helps. If you need more information just ask me again.
I was reading about your pillowcases above--what a great gift for the young people in your church. I'm thinking of making them for family members this Christmas. My husband's family has pretty much quit exchanging gifts, but I still try to do something for them. I've always had more time than money, so i usually make something. All my SILs work outside the home, so several times I've done 5-6 dozen cookies in a few varieties for their Christmas parties. But no one needs the calories--LOL! We are moving in ten days to Dublin, GA, where there is a VA hospital for my DH, who is disabled. I'll have a sewing room and more time to sew since both kids will be gone. That's just a little about me--love to hear more about you.
Vera, I'm so glad you have joined the fibro group. I have appreciated the support and encouragement so much, and I'm confident you will too. You have a lot on your plate right now, both with the fibro and with taking care of your husband. May God bless you as you are walking through these difficulties--remember "His eye is on the sparrow."
Hi Vera: Welcome to this group. Glad to hear about your pillow case pattern and experience. I recently ordered a pillow case kit from Connecting Threads and am looking forward to starting it. Thanks for your inspiration!
Hi Vera,
Check out the fibro group, you may want to join our group. It's a great group to be able to share how we're doing, to get ideas, to be able to vent, laugh, cry. You certainly have your hands full with your health challenges and all that your DH has been through. It's good to celebrate those anniversaries! WooHoo. Pillowcases are such fun to make. How neat you made them for the youth. My guys love them, too, and they are in their 20s & 30s. Thank you for all your wonderful comments on my projects. As you can see, I like doing a wide variety of things -- no boredom here! LOL
