I found a website! Yea!

Posted on August 4, 2009 at 10:21am 0 Comments

I found a website to host my free candle mat a month program. I'm so exited, I can hardly sit still long enough to type or to sew.

I'd give you the url now, but, you'd run off to see the site. Never fear, I'll post the link at the end of my rambling.

I've made the final decision on the blocks to use for the candle mats. With so many to choose from, It was a difficult choice narrowing it down to just 12. I decided I wanted a theme so that if people don't want to make them… Continue

I spent the last week creating what I think are amazing quilting designs. Oh, they are not amazing in that, they will blow you away. They are amazing in that such simple blocks, can make such beautiful designs when I flip and twist them in Electric Quilt.

I spent time delving through a book I have about quilt designs. Then I either found them already in EQ or I used the create a block functions and reproduced them. Then I simply played until I came up with something I… Continue

Thanks for the offer about EQ5, I haven't had time lately, grandson's BD trip to Pa for a christening. I am still working on my Bee's in the Backyard, trying to get it quilted, it was suppose to be done by the 7/27, oops a little behind. I want to make a quilt with surf boards on it for my grandson's BD and was trying to do that on EQ5, just a layout. I have all the fabric with dolphins, shells etc. I was thinking of bigger blocks in the middle with the dolphins and ocean colors. smaller blocks around with surf boards on background material. Just wanted the size blocks and how many. I like to cut out everything at once and just sew. Don't like taking out and doing it again. I am really the lazy quilter.

Vickie: Yes I am a member of the business group. I would love to help you any way I can and or answer any questions you might have. I've been there and know what you're going through. I know times are tough now but I really can say enough of this book. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_b?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=how+to+publish+patterns&x=15&y=20 A few of my friends also used this book getting started. I found it at amazon.com but if you have a book store in your town, they can order it for you. I worked on my new pattern last night until 11:00. It'f funny how tme flies when you're doing something you love. Welcome to the CT blog and please feel free to ask away.

I mostly piece by machine, don't too much hand work-just don't have the time or the eyes to do it at this time!! I have brought the EPP kit from CT and will try my hand at it, I know it is hand work but it looks like fun and so I will give it a try. I haven't tried paper piecing yet but have a small wall hanging quilt to try but it is on the TO DO list that keeps growing!!!!

Hi Vickie, I'm from north east Maryland, is that close enough, grin. I've been quilting off and on for about 9 - 10 years. Just in the last year or so have I gotten back into some serious quilting. I'm more of a traditional quilter. I find a pattern I like and then do my own thing with it. Have a stack of unfinished quilt tops that I need to quilt. That's the tedious part for me. I love the buying of material, cutting the pieces and sewing them together (although I manage to rip out more seams than I sew). This site has been fun for me. I do more of reading everybody's blog's and comments than I do of sending any. Interesting. Have fun with your quilting. Ruth D
