I finished my "Dancing Butterflies" quilt today. It was difficult for me to get back to sewing. I really had to push myself but once I got started I was lost in the hum of the sewing machine. After not working on my quilting project due to a family emergency, I think I need to get back to it. I find sewing and quilting takes my mind off my thoughts and gives me some targeted direction. I love to quilt and I think a person's life is like a quilt, lived in little pieces that all come together to form who they are. Roles at home, on the job and in the community are fueled by opinions, emotions and experiences. Hooray! I have finally gotten the chance to quilt again. It has been a very long time since I could start and finish a quilt project. My latest baby quilt, Fairy Dust, has shown me I am certainly out of practice. But I love the art of quilting, I am not going to complain if I have to re-learn a few skills and techniques.
