I just joined this community in January, and it has really blossomed! It is so much fun to meet other quilters, just like you.
I ordered the bobbin winder from Gammill, the longarm company. It wasn't cheap, but not the poor quality of the SideWinder as I am told. I figured it was better to invest more $ in a quality product than $30 for one that is not dependable.
If you are interested, just long on to the Gamill website. Do an advanced search for free-standing bobbin winder, and you will find it. If you are using it for a regular sewing machine, you probably have an "L" sized bobbin. Some longarms take the "L" size, while others take the "M" size (larger, abt. 1"). I actually called the toll-free number for Gammill and talked to someone to be sure about what I was ordering. Then I ordered it that evening online, because I had to get back to my job when I was on the phone. The people are very helpful there.
Hope you find out what you need to know from Gammill, and I hope I've helped also.
