About Me
I love sewing and knitting. I was born and raised in Brooklyn NY but I have always loved farms! I went to one when I was a kid and fell in love with the country life. I don't know where my craft sense comes from. My mother crochets but my great grandmother was a quilter. I learned to knit in school when I was 12. Life takes you into all kinds of directions but it always leads you home. When I was a young woman I became a christian and was baptized.

I hope all my fellow quilters and sewing sisters are OK. The storm was awful but with God's love we will rebuild our lives. My prayers go out to everyone.

I am so glad the Fall and Winter is upon us. I know people might not like the snow but I enjoy it.  It's wonderful to walk in Central Park and see the last greening of the trees.  Walking in the park wrapped in a hand knitted shawl is a sheer rapture.

In the last few weeks something has come over me. I really feel a strong urge to do more quilting. I used to be so unsure about…

Hi, I love your rainy day picture.  My daughter used to live in NYC and it brings back memories of walking down those streets.  So different from here in Kansas!

Hello,
I'm glad your ailment is going away - it does get worrisome, but it's a good thing your health issue is not catastrophic.
As for your 'flower garden' quilt - I agree with everybody's comments - you are the artist and the quilter - you follow your own gut rules. When I was learning to quilt I went to this quilt shop to take some classes. When it came to the actual quilting, I did it with the 'push down, push up' method because I was left-handed, and I was able to get 12 even stitches to an inch. Well, the instructor said I was doing it wrong, so I left the class and never went back for another one. Since then, I read books, subscribed to magazines and learned from these. You are your own best teacher. Regard-Aida

Hi Yarn Basket,
There is a English Paper piecing group on this site you can join. Then you can chat with other quilter who love this technique. Just go to the main page, look on the left for group, click on View all and keep going until you find it. Click on the group and join!
Have fun. Dianne
