I just joined this board and I would like to compliment you on your fine choice of quilting supervisors. Mine is Thumper and she is about 7 years old. She does the same as your cat and inspects every quilt I make.
Your quilts are amazing by the way.

Hi Yvonne,I just looked up the book..Baltimore Beauties andBeyond......wow.....I am in the middle of doing a applique quilt.....affairs of the heart by Aie Rossman.....It is wonderful fun but a wee bit difficult....I only goofed up one to the point of a 'do over'..I am on block 16. Unfortunately at Amazon they had all but the cover pictures blocked on your quilt but I'm sure they are beautiful. I will request you as a friend so that we can aplaud or cry together.....jean

PS: I just read your post here about the recipes. We even have a recipe for tomato jell! (It is really good, but it doesn't sound all that great.) I'll try to get time soon to get some recipes sent your way.

I should be taking that Baltimore class with you! I haven't attempted much needle turn applique, but I think I'd like it if I could get the hang of it. I tried it once and struggled with it. Keep us posted! You will do great.

I would love any of the recipes you would like to send my way. I sit and wonder what I am going to do when the tomatoes take over my back porch. LOL

I live in the Jackson area of MS currently.

I'd be glad to share whatever recipes you are interested in. The wild jell recipes came from my mom, from her mom, etc. I think they are pretty straightforward, but I notice they have a lot of sugar in them and they take a lot longer to jell than domestic fruit. The only other things I put up are tomatoes, green beans, salsa, and a great apple pie recipe that I got from my sister-in-law. It can also be heated up and served over ice cream if you don't want to put it in a pie. Let me know which ones you are interested in and I'll get them to you. PQ

Hi Yvonne, Where in Ms. do you live? I have a sister in Richland,Ms. She is a librarian and loves the people she meets daily. My husband had an uncle Edward who had a daughter in Ms. but I am not sure if she was a Fay or an Yvonne??????????????

Hi, I'm a 'hoopless' quilter and read your note. When I quilt i sit in a chair with arms. I find the arms of the chair help support the weight of the quilt. I try to keep the weight on the chair arms and even my crossed leg so that my underhand is not so stressed. I guess i stay pretty upright like that because I never noticed any twisting or awkward positions. Of course I do get the pricked finger and fatigue but I can usually quilt for a long period like this....does this help?
