Well said...being a mom isn't easy. I feel like once I had grandchildren it was, in a way, doubly hard. The reason I say that is my granddaughter was very ill when she was 3. The doctors didn't really now if she would survive. I was grief stricken and terrified I would lose her, and at the same time in constant anguish about my son's pain and worry about his daughter. But I wouldn't trade being a mom for the world!
ahhh, thanks for sharing what your son said about 'moms' role after they grow up. I needed to hear that today as I sit here boo hooing that he is leaving the USA tomorrow. I did get to talk to him this morning so that was nice. I may have to break my new years rule on UFO's and start a special quilt for him instead. I miss him so much.
Thanks Cheryl. It's tough this week but holding up pretty well. I've got a 70th birthday party planned for my mom on Sunday so maybe that will help me keep it together the day he actually leaves. Being with family helps.
BTW - Our power came on Tuesday afternoon. Yea. It was only 6 degrees Wednesday morning. Good day for heat.
Hi Cheryl - I think about them all the time. My sone will finish this training on Friday and he is suppose to have a week or two before deploying. I got home to Kentucky from my Florida vacation to a cold dark house. No power since last Monday night. Ugh. I'm staying with my sister but would love to get the power on and back home. It's so cold here - below 20 today. Elaine
Hi Cheryl I want to give all the ladies in your group a big hand. I have a friend who has fibro she dosen't quilt but does beeding when she is having a good day. You Ladies share great tips living with fibro. I will follow you and see if I can pick up something to help her out. Do you have a fibro support group ? Maybe she could join? Thanks for your time. Elaine
Hi Cheryl, I'll pass the addresses along to my friend's mom in Florida who prepares care packages as well! And p.s., my sewing room NEVER looks like that anymore... I clean it up regularly but it takes about 2 seconds for it be a wreck again! Looking forward to your postcards and the addresses!
Hi Cheryl. Well, winter came back with a vengance today. For about a week we had some nice weather. I would rather have it stay cold and have an early spring.
I can't think about gardening until May/June. I have two raised gardens which I really like. I can sit on the edge and weed. Although, one of the quilters talked about lasagna gardening, which I think I just might try. Sounds interesting.
Well, I'm at a computer training course and we had some problems this morning but it appears that it has been fixed so I must say adieu for now as I am on company time.

Hi Cheryl. I did not know that Obama was the son of a white woman. Being in Canada we don't get as hyped up as the Americans b/c we actually vote for a party and the head of that party leads our country. We have had some interesting stuff going on in our government as well.
I have my daughter, son in law and granddaughter living with us and she had everything packed away before the new year. I was disappointed as I love having Christmas stuff up but I must admit, I'm glad it's gone. They put an offer on a home which was excepted so now they want the home inspected to make sure all is well. If all is well, they will be living about 3 miles from us. We live out in the country so it will be real nice to have Nova nearby. I have 2 other grandkids but they live overseas.
Sounds like you have your hands full. Good luck with it all.
