Diane, thanks for the pictures. A very discouraging and disappointing harvest for sure. We have no crops, only grass, and its been a challenging year here also, but not devastating, like what you are going through. We had rain for the first time in what seems like months. I can't recall the last rain, although I know my husband could pinpoint the day. Praying for a better year next year for all whose livelihoods depend on the land and livestock.
Diane - good to hear from you on the Vintage Quilts group. Hope things are going well for you and your family. I always liked hearing what you were working on at any given time.
Since hand quilting my daughter's DWR quilt in 2012, I've been in major quilting slump. I seem to be getting back into the swing of things lately.
We are enjoying being grandparents to DD's little 18 month old boy. They just live about 3 hours away from us in Yuma, CO, so we can go out and back in a day if we want to. DS and his wife work with us here on the ranch, which is great, too, but they have no children yet.
The quilt study center in Lincoln is pretty impressive. Hope you get a chance to stop in sometime.
It's too bad you had to let go the quilt business your quilts stunning.
Diane Thank you for your quick reply. I am looking at all your quilt pictures again. Love your colors. Did you order Bonnie Hunters new book. Thanks again . Would you like to be my friend.
Diane. I just enjoyed going through pictures of your quilts. They are so pretty. I am into scraps and enjoy Bonnie Hunter. I was wondering what is the name of quilt #60. You said that you made several big quilts of scraps. Do you remember where you got the pattern. I would appreciate any help you could give me. Thanks Barbara Donaldson
Thanks, Diane! I've met some very nice ladies already and I just joined yesterday!
Diane, I remembered your interest in feed sacks, and thought of you when I saw this information poste. Lucas is a little town about 15 miles due East of Osceolo on Highway er.

Diane, of course I'll be your friend -- I didn't realize we weren't already friends -- we seem to have a lot in common!
Diane, have I understood some of your comments correctly? Do you sometimes restore old quilts? Would you perhaps be able to help me? I have a quilt top that my grandmother pieced and appliqued for me and gave to me when I was in my twenties, so I have had it for 40 years. My grandmother lived in New Bedford, Massachusetts, and was a typical thrifty New Englander. She saved scraps, and she had access to the bolt ends and seconds from the Massachusets fabric mills, so the fabrics used are some she collected during the 30's and 40's. My newest lab puppy got mad at me for leaving him home while I ran errands, and chose to mall the quilt. I know that it will never be the same, but I am hoping that it can be mended. I would appreciate any assistance, guidance, help that you might be able to give me.
I looked through your photo gallery and you have some amazing quilts. I quilt all my quilts by hand too. I make a mess trying to machine quilt. I have pieced several by machine, but I enjoy hand piecing and hand applique, too.
