Dianne, Just had a chance to come back and say hello and get a peek at a few of your fabulous quilts! My dial up connection is so sloooow that it takes about five minutes for each of your pictures to load so I'll come back often - your quilts are worth it!
Dianne, I have not been here for a very long time so I am just getting to my comments. Thank you for complimenting me on my quilts. I started quilting in 2000 but since I don't work, I think I sew/quilt every day. I understand what you say about "what's next". I have a huge amount of ufo's and patterns and kits to get into. I just say I can't die until I have everything finished. lol
Hi Dianne. Thanks for the friend request. My husband and I are making a trip out East in Sept. it is our 25Th anniversary this year. SO we are very excited! Your cottage looks wonderful! Do you machine quilt your quilts? They are very inspiring. I don't get on to " quilt with us" very much and I need to. I find it so encouraging to get back to sewing even when life gets so busy with life!! :) Applique is something I have not tried, my mother in law loves it and quilts all her quilts on a frame, she lives in Sask. Did you find it hard or do you enjoy it a lot?
Hi Dianne:
Thank you for the friend request. Your quilts are beautiful! I will check in often on this site. I actually forgot I had signed up until I saw an email tonight.
Happy Quilting! Sue
Hi Dianne;
how has the summer been so far, we have a lot of rain and humidity is terrible. I like your photos, one day i hope to get a digital camera and capture some pics. My hubby retires at the end Dec. He worked in Nfld. years ago. We plan to visit in the future.
Hi Diane - Just checked out your quilts photo's. They are just great particularly the one of the wedding bells and ribbon. Great Idea about appliqueing the scene of your home and your dog will make a great photo.I was talking to DIL and son who are visiting with her parents in NL are you anywhere near Stephenville? They are near there. DIL says they have been having good weather for them this summer.
Hi Diane. Nice to connect with another Atlantic Canadian. Your quilts are wonderful. I particularly like the Spanish weaving piece - I have something similar received as a gift from my sister but I really like the pattern you used.
I hope the weather in Newfoundland is steadily improving as it is here, finally. Last couple of days have been nice and warm.
Hi Diane...I've never been to NFLD but St.Johns was a favorite of my late DHs. I have 4 kids, the oldest is 43 and the youngest is 35...guess that makes me a "very, very" young mother, LOL. I started quilting about 25 years ago when the Principal at the school where i worked asked me to teach a quilting class in the Community Schools program...bought a quilting magazine and taught myself the basics in a couple of days...the rest is history. It's amazing what you can do when you don't know any better :-).
