Chat Disconnect button

Posted on September 14, 2009 at 4:30pm 2 Comments

chat has a disconnect button. doh, silly me. so if i hit the disconnect button at lower right of screen, i wont show on the list as there to chat. lets see it is red now, so i'm offline for chat. if i click that again it will go green and i'm good to go for chat. doesnt affect anything else on this site so i can still look thru pix and read groups etc.

right now everyone who is logged into this site shows as being in the chat window also.

its hard to know if anyone is really there or… Continue

hey everyone,

just wondered how many folks have checked out the Chat facility on here?

down at the bottom right corner of the screen it shows how many folks are online looking thru the site.

they all show in chat but arent talking if not actually in there.

i've had a wee chat with Nana in NC and Becca in TX today.

managed another quick chat with someone the other day....who it was eludes me at the moment.

could be interesting to set actual times to meet there for a… Continue

sudoku colours rather than numbers

Posted on July 8, 2009 at 4:23pm 4 Comments

http://www.sudoku-color.com/index_en.html

this one works with 9 colours not a number in sight for those who find it all too much with digits.
i'm having fun with it now, more like designing a quilt than doing maths.
enjoy!

Hi Jeanne,
Your idea is a good one, about people not being logged into chat, but unfortunately, it's not an option on this system. I'm guilty of it too, leaving it logged in (I like to see how many people are on), because if anyone wants to chat with me directly, I am available, but I 'm just not participating in the group chat at the moment. I know a few people have suggested in blog posts the same thing - addressed to the the whole community, but you're right, no one is really paying attention. Also, those with very old browsers don't even see the icons properly.

Thanks for your wonderful comment on our club's raffle quilt for this year (Basket Trails)... The pattern is my design, I just haven't written up the instructions yet... I could send it to you when I get it completed, I sell them for $5.00.

Thank you for the comments about my small Colorwheel Dresden plates. They have been fun to make, and a challenge sometimes to discover the right colors from my stash. After seeing me work on them at group meetings, I have a number of members that are wanting to do the color wheel study.
Have a good and fun time making yours if you decide to.

Thanks for your very nice compliment on our club quilt. I designed the quilt specially for our club raffle quilt. The group decided they wanted baskets in 30's repros and so that is the quilt I designed.

That sounds like an interesting approach by starting in the middle and then just radiating from there! I think you could make something really fabulous that way....can't wait to see what you come up with. If you do something with this, please let me know and send me the picture!!! It sounds like you are very creative person. When you get to the end of your "rounds" you could just cut the outter edges off to square it up.....or 1/2 square triangles.......depends on the look you want I guess. http://www.greenknowe.co.uk/gallery11.html this is the link to the original quilt by Lucy Boston
