I want time to Quilt!!!

Posted on January 31, 2009 at 5:01pm 3 Comments

This week has been a nightmare......my husband had surgery on Monday. I spent the entire day from 5:45 am to 6:30 pm at the hospital. Tues with a storm looming, I got to the hospital around noon. The Dr came in around 2:30 and said he would discharge my husband. It should ahve been a quick process....oh no! We finally got out of there arounf 6pm. I got hubby settled and ran to the pharmacy to have his prescriptions filled. I got to eat around 7:30 and after getting hubby's cath bag changed… Continue

Wanted to stop and say "Hello". I joined today. I've been a quilter about 15 years and during the time I have amassed quite a stash and stack of UFOs. I am slowly working at getting both down to a manageable amount. I work full time in a retail pharmacy and I find this cuts in to my time way too much. I am married for 27 yrs and have 2 children. I added some pics of my works and need to now get back to putting another top together.
I am glad to find such a wonderful group here

Just viewed your page. Your work is great. As is should be for any

seasoned quilter. Hubby has family up there in Tamaqua, sometimes we

make a trip up there once a year. Wer currently live in Southampton, NJ.

It's a ride up there. I hope to get to the Lancaster show out in Hershey

know the times changed to Sept. There is a local quild here having one

Lainey, I forgot how awful insurance companies are to deal with. I don't know if I ever got the hang of entering the numbers, etc. I used to get yelled at if co-pays had increased from the previous month. Like I'm responsible for that!! I'm glad the admitting department takes care of all that. We do have problems with certain medications even in the hospital setting. Some meds are never paid for. Anyways, I guess we both like the name Rebecca! I hope your husband feels better and that your own surgery goes well. Get some quilting done while you can. It's so hard to fit it sometimes but it is worth it!

Lainey, hang in there, as your hubby heals he will depend on you less and you will have your time to quilt. I have to compliment you on the pictures you posted, you do really nice work. I have been quilting for almost 3 years and have to say I am addicted. I absolutely love it and it is such a relaxing outlet. My Mom was an inspiring quilter but I never took the time to learn. I was too busy with the kids etc. Big mistake, but better late than never. Hang in there and I wish hubby a speedy recovery

I just read your bio and thought we had alot in common. I'm a pharmacist but I work in a hospital. I have worked retail but prefer hospital. I'm sure you know how tough it is to work with the public. I hope your husband is feeling better and that you find that time for quilting!!

Thank you for the compliment on my Double Irish Chain quilt top. It's in the shop being quilted right now, I can't wait to get it back and the binding on it. I'll repost after it's done. Thanks again.

Hi, again! I've got a cousin who lives in Whitehall (which covers a really big area, doesn't it?!) and my youngest son lives in West Easton. Thanks for calling me "friend"!
