I bought quilts as I travelled for business for years because I never even considered I could make one!!! In 1979 my wonderful talentee sister in law convinced me I could make a quilt, so I launched a Lone Star (no one told me this pattern was supposed to be hard). I made a queen size, allhand cut and hand pieced and hand quilted. Now 30 years later I have made more than 50 full sized quilts, plus many, many, many baby quits, wall hangings, table toppers, etc. Only a few have been hand quilted by me; several hand quilted by others; several machine quilted by me and others and NOW I've bought a long arm and am having FUN, FUN, FUN quilting all my pieced tops and doing some quilting for others.
I'm a widow with the grown children and 4 wonderful g-kids. I'm retired from the telephone company and now work parttime at an insurance company. I love the Lord, m;y family and quilting in that order (but sometimes get the order a bit askew). God's been good to me and I'm proud to be part of the quilting world.

how sweet of ya'll to wish me happy birthday! I'm in Michigan at Higgins Lake on a quilt retreat with 2 other friends as we speak. So far I've completed 80 blocks for an Orion's Star which I started YEARS ago!!! My birthday was great as we went to a favorite restaurant in GayLord and a favorite quilt shop in Grayling!! thanks again
Sounds like you had a successful weekend and lots of fun. Last night I decided my chair turned out so well< I would order the fabric to do a matching chair. I'm excited about this . Then back to quilting again. Have a great day.
