I can't believe I woke up to snow today. YUK!!! It is to early for that white stuff. But I guess I have to get use to it. Maybe today I will try to get to some sewing. I will be going on a quilt retreat up the North Shore of Lake Superior in Beaver Bay. I leave on the 21st and come home the 25th. I can't wait. I go twice a year for retreat up there. I have a lot of Christmas gifts to make. I hope everyone has a great day.

Happy fourth of July to everyone. I don't have much planned we might go on a picnic other wise I don't have much planned. Well hopefully I will be getting my cast off monday 7 weeks have sure been along time. I did not get any sewing done since most of the time I had to keep it elevated, but I do have some projects line up.

One thing I learned how to do embroidery, my mom showed me how. I did finish a dresser scarf and now I am working a red work wall hanging(but it is in blue). Well I… Continue

This is the first time I have been on the computer in 2 weeks. Went to the doctor to they put a cast on and I still can't put ant weight on it for 5 weeks and I am suppose to keep it elevated. I have been doing some hand work and looking at quilt magazines and books. What a way to spend summer. I am at my wits end.

The weather here has not even been that warm to sit outside much, spend a lot of time in my front porch. My son planted my flower gardens this year he did a awesome… Continue

Tomorrow I have to have surgery on my leg. In january I had broke my leg and dislocated my ankle. Well on Thursday I went to the doctor and was informed that one of the screws is backing out and the ankle is not going back into place, and so they are going to reput the the pin back in and put 2 screws in my ankle. I will be of the leg for 6 wks, I am really upset over this since I have complained about it for the past 2 months. I just hope this is going to work this time. So I guess no quilting… Continue

The weather was great, except on Sunday I had to drive in the snow but that is Minnesota in the 60's one day and snow the next. I did take pictures should get them posted soon. Have a… Continue

Hi Lisa, I live in Fredenberg Township, which is between Fish Lake and Island Lake -- are you familiar with that area. We're about 17 miles from Miller Hill Mall. I grew up in Duluth Heights but my grandparents homesteaded in Fredenberg so I spent much of my time as a child out here...my sister lives in the old farmhouse now which is 3 miles from me. I love being back in Duluth and out here in the woods. Hope we can meet some day!

I had emailed re: retreat already and she forwarded the email that she sent all re: retreat. She mentioned Lisa that the rooms were $79.95 per night. If you share a room, is it still the same price? And then it is $110 besides right? Do you all work on your own thing or do you do projects together? Are your meals extra besides this? I am just trying to figure how much the whole time would cost so if we are serious about going that we know how much we are going to have to save between now and the spring. Hope you have a wonderful time.
