I have been teaching myself to quilt by reading all kinds of quilt books.I"ve been sewing since the age of 14 and I"ve been trying to learn to quilt for three or four years.I would love to have this book for my library so I could learn more.I"m working on another nine patch for Downey Quilts for kids so I would really enjoy having this book.Wonderful Interview, wish I could meet her in Person.

My second quilt.

I have been on a trip to my mom's without e-mail. Did make a lap quilt top for a wedding gift while at my mom.
You have a cat just like my Mr. Gray cat that comes to sleep on my porch at night. The cat belongs to the neighors.

Welcome to QWU. You will enjoy the friendships that are made here. I started quilting over 20 years ago and then stopped, life with children made me stop. I regret that, now I quilt like crazy. Quilt and have fun. Looking forward to hearing from you more.

Patricia I am sorry you lost your mom to cancer. My you find peace with it soon. Maybe you can join the cancer walk. Maybe even make a cancer quilt in her honor would help. I did not cry when my dad died from cancer, he was in so much pain, but I was buying and making everything dark or black, for over 10 years.

Hi Patricia - I see you have been visited by two very nice Missouri gals....and so I will just say -

Welcome! You'll love it! They are very skillful - and I am just learning the ropes....with great hopes. I will probably be more successful now that I have some connections through this wonderful site.

Hi Pat, I see Cat Lady has told you about our MO group and our domestic home machine quilt. I would love to see you join us. I live in Boonville so am not terribly far from you. Are you military? My DIL's sister & her dh were stationed in Knob Noster, but I believe they just recently moved to Wisconsin.

Hi Pat, Welcome to this site. I want to welcome you to some of the groups that you might want to check out. There are two groups for those of us here in MO. The "Missouri Quilters," and the "Kansas City and Surrounding Area" groups.
There is also a group for those of us who like to do hand quilting, "Around the Quilt Frame, Hand Quilters." There is also a group for those of us learning or using our domestic sewing machines to quilt our projects, "Domestic Home Machine Quilters."
As you look through the groups you will undoubtedly find others of interest.
Just join in on the discussions. This is an excellent place to be.
Since we are so close geographically, may I invite you to be my friend?
I too have cats who like to help me with all of my quilting projects. Cat Lady.
