Hey Ranchmom! I haven't been good about checking in very often lately. I try to keep up with the main pages, but have nearly abandoned the smaller groups. Just no time.

How did James' football team end their season? I remember they were having a good year. Tell has started wrestling season, which is his favorite sport. The first meet is the first week in December, but he's been helping coach the junior high team this month. They had a meet last week and will have 2 meets this week - today and Friday.

I probably do need to go back and pick up more of that fabric. I usually don't buy batiks, but this one really caught my eye. Yesterday I started another Taco Salad table topper, but am doing this one in just 2 colors so far. My niece is getting married in January and her colors are an ice blue (light, powder blue) and white with maybe silver accents. I had a silvery blue Fairy Frost FQ and white tone-on-tone snowflake fabric with a shimmer that I dug out. If I can work it in, I have a shimmery silver fabric that I might try to work in, but thought the taco salad in the blue and white kind of looks like a snowflake. I might make a few modifications to it once I get the basic top put together. I may embroider their names and wedding date as a keepsake for them before it is done. Her shower is the 28th, so I'll need to keep moving on it whatever I decide.

My nephew called and asked if it would be possible for me to make his girlfriend a throw-sized quilt by Christmas. I laughed and asked him "This Christmas?" I told him it might be possible for someone, but probably not me! He then said her birthday was in February, so would that be possible and she likes green. I made no commitments, but am toying with the CT B & B basket kit. I have so many quilt projects lined up, I could sew from here to eternity and probably not get all my "someday" quilts done.

I like your crocheted baskets. Shoni is learning how to crochet and is enjoying it. I made her a tote bag to store her craft things in. I haven't gotten a picture posted yet. We're going to try to make the 5 hour trip to visit her this weekend and also attend a bull sale in that area.

I'm working on the transcription today. Tomorrow I'll have extra men for dinner and then we have youth group at the church in the afternoon (after school). We're having a craft day and I'm the craft lady, so will need to get those prepared today sometime. And so life goes from here. Hope things are going well out your way. Jan

Thanks for the welcome.
I was stationed in Pascagoula MS and San Diego from 1981 to 1983. I was a Yeoman. I now work again in Federal Service.
I am new to this on-line stuff but so far I love all the ideas, photos and patterns. I'm single again, twice divorced, have a daughter 26 and a stepson 19.
During the last few years have not sewed a lot and am looking forward to get back into being creative, still struggling with motivation but its getting better.
Thanks again for the warm welcome :)

I've started counting down the days until I can get my Snowmen out how about you?

The weather turned off great the next day for the afternoon football game. Melted the snow pretty quickly. It was our last game. (We didn't have a good enough record to make it to the playoffs for State). We won, so it was a nice way for Tell to end his senior season. He had a really good game. Sounds like James has a great team this year. Hope they keep winning.

The calves were weaned on Saturday. So far so good. Todd is getting ready to move the cows away tomorrow. (They are in adjoining pastures.) We keep the calves and run them as grass yearlings selling them in early fall.

Enjoy your time with your friend. Should be fun! Safe travels. Jan

It is snowing sideways mostly. No school. Probably no game, but haven't received the official word yet on that. Probably 4 - 6 inches on the ground so far. Lights keep flickering, so may not have power for too much longer. Computer is on a battery backup, so that helps. Water is being stored up as we speak. I may be able to get some hand work done during the daylight hours. Tell is working on a pair of woolies. He bought a couple of angora hides and has one leg cut out so far. He's using an old pair of chaps for a pattern. He and his Grpa are headed out to elk hunt right now. Dad got a landowner's license and the season is winding down. So far he hasn't been successful in getting them to answer a call.

Keep warm and dry and hope the calves sell well.
