I haven't posted in oh, so long. Like Deb, I'm almost (I say almost) embarrassed to post.
As I've been reading to catch up, I found the post about sharing and even though it's a bit late in coming, I just want to say that we need to continue.
I do enjoy this site and all of your posts. I have to agree with Pam and all the others that sharing our personal stories and anecdotes are what make us the social animals that we are. Please keep sharing. We are quilters, but we…

Good morning from UK, we have been having a heat wave here, very unusual for us and I have been doing some hand quilting in the Garden quite wonderful. I am not a wonderful quilter and not a fast worker, but I do so enjoy it. I have some material that has the paper pieced lines on it, I suppose it is instead of the paper and will give the block a little firmness, have you ever used that, if so any comments or tsp would be helpful. Many thanks in advance of chatting again.
I see that Tampico is in Northern Illinois. Bloomington is more in my neck of the woods. My SIL took me to a quilt shop in Bloomington. It was crazy. I've never seen so much fabric in one place. It looked really disorganized, but it was really organized. I just can't remember the name of the store.
Where are you from in Illinois?
Also, I apologize that I did not respond to your post on my page last year. I have email notifications turned off and I don't check my page very often. The quilt store that I went to is in Rochester Illinois. It was wonderful.
And -I grew up in Milmine, Illinois. Small farming community outside of Monticello Illinois.
Beautiful grandchildren Lana. Mine are ot that little anymore. Grandson is a junior at Ohio State and granddaughter is a high school senio. She is going to Ohio University in August. Doesnt seem possible. They have lived 2 mi from me all of the life. They are beautifuo, healthy and smart so what more could I want.
Bailey's dress pattern is Simplicity 2464. It's a Daisy Kingdom pattern. Also has a top and crop pants that are adorable too.
Whew! Lana, I had to go back to February 6th to find out if it was you who sewed on the Featherweight or not <LOL> Anyway, I have a question for you. How often do you oil and how often do you lubricate? I'd forgotten completely how many spots there are to oil on these old machines. Talk about throwing me back 50 yrs or so <BG>. I got my machine back from my repairman and he was thrilled that I'd received such a good one. I have to look for an old 301 to replace the hook eventually, but at the moment it sews like a dream. And, fyi, it's from 1948 made in the USA. I've been puttin the blocks together for one of Bonnie Hunter's quilts, and it occurred to me that I had been working for 3 straight days on this quilt and then wondered how often I should clean and oil it. On my Pfaff, I oil every bobbin change, but then it's a one-drop oiling too. Let me know, if you wouldn't mind, how often you do your Featherweights please.
