Happy New Year to you.  Sorry I am so slow answering. I will show you pictures when I get the fabric Sunshine sent to me made into a quilt, wallhanging, or something that will be nice to honor your friend.  I want to say thank you for sharing with Sunshine so she could share with me.  Quilters are nice friends and I hope I can be your friend too.  Take care and Thanks

The quilt that I made with the elk in it, was from scraps and I didn't have a pattern. I just cut 9" sq's from 3 different materials that I had left over and arranged them the way you see them in the picture. That's one of my favorite quilts, because it's all flannel and It goes in the motorhome. It fits the length and width of our short queen bed and is perfect to pull up when it gets to cold in there. I don't even know if you can find the animal prints now. I looked for more and didn't find them. Good luck. Sharon

I've had the threads come thru to the back while free motioning and found it needed cleaning. I cleaned out the shuttle and everywhere I could. It seemed to help. Once I took it in to the shop and it had threads piled up in there from when they had broken. I had to take my machine in, because I got the timing off by putting the needle thru my fingernail. It was close to the end and when I jerked it out, I tore the end of the finger. Well, to make this short, it only hurt when it went thru and was pulled out. It happeded a week ago Thurs and it's already lealed up. I used Neosperim whenever I changed the bandage. Also kept it dry. It didn't slow down my sewing, but the timing did. So, I took it in yesterday and will get it back in a week. My daughter had a machine I could borrow and it's not as good as mine, but it'll do. Hope you get your thread problem fixed without having to take it in to the shop. Happy Quilting.

Hey Sue... I put a Janome MC3500 on layaway, but think I'm going to cancel it. My MC3000 is in the shop right now... guy called today and said it's going to run more than he orginally thought - can't remember what other new part he said I need - but need more than just a new throat plate. They gave me a loaner; otherwise I might be going a little nutz here lol. We bought a new car, so I think a new sewing machine will have to wait a little longer.
Are you going to be able to come down and go to the quilt show with us next month? If not, give me a call when you do come down and I'll have you come see what I've been working on - just don't wait til Nov :). Right now, I'm paper piecing until I get my own machine back next month.

Hey, how is your sewing machine? Do you have a Featherweight? I have too many! I have a treadle too but I don't sew on it. I'd love to visit Michigan. Your snowman quilt is so cute!

Yes, I was going a little nutz... had the quilt show this past weekend - thankfully, I had those quilts completed, but wanted to work on the quilt for my Scottish friend during the show. Because I got my machine back in time, I was able to do that. I had quite a few people stop by to watch me as I was machine quilting it. Cathy V. stopped in for a few and we got to chat a little.
I do have a second machine, but a 35 yr old cabinet model... tried to do some sewing on it, but the tension is off and the darning/free motion foot doesn't seem to be working right.
Some of the guild members will be up around Houghton Lake (state campgrounds, I believe) for a quilting retreat the end of July. It's a yearly thing, but first time for me.

Hi Cuz.... sorry I didn't reply sooner.... I JUST found your message on my page...I've thought about doing the Downy quilts, but have so many waiting to be done now that I'll probably pass. I'm trying to make at least one quilt for either our homeless/women's shelter or a local nursing home each month this year.

Hi Susan - no I haven't used it yet - as of all my current tops are already baste and ready to quilt - I won't probably not until late march - also I am kind of scared as I have never machine quilt before... - so will start on a small one - and I have a DD that has special needs and I just lost my sitter - so that is why it leaves me no time ... to be on the machine - by hand it is OK - I can sit next to her -
also I was told that you can use it as big as you want - queen king.... I know a lady here Cornwoman has one - if you want
