Started quilting about 6 yrs ago and love it! I've made quilts for all 5 of my grandchildren plus a number of others. I bought a Voyager/Hinterberg set-up a couple of years ago so I could quilt any size quilt. I live out in the country and I'm still working, although I hope to retire soon.
I'm glad you like the French braid, Luv2Quilt. It was my oldest granddaughter's graduation gift. I'm going to make another in shades of pink and purple for my new daughter-in-law...I'll try the one on the front of the book this time!
How do you like your Voyager? I've had challenges learning to get my tension set correctly. Think I'm doing OK now. It is so different than sewing on a domestic machine. Your braided quilt was beautiful Blue is my favorite color. Keep quilting!!
The zippers are very quick. I ordered heavy plastic separating jacket zippers and sewed one side to the leader. The other side i sew to the quilt or back with machine basting. I use the cheapest thread I can find and literally pull the fabric and zipper thru the machine so i have rather large stitches. When the quilt it done i just rip the zipper off. (thats why the cheapest thread it rips long before the fabric)
