Well, I tried to harness and saddle my sewing chair yesterday while the energy level was good and the sun put a trance on that darn chair. I'd forgotten how easily "unclogged" wheels roll around and my new chair is sure a slipper sucker. I'd be willing to challenge you to a chair race now, before those wheels load up again with my wayward floor threads and then I'll be back in the slow rollers club once again. …Continue
This is a very interesting website that you may want to take a minute to look at. Many of you know, that I made a memory quilt of my grandmother. It was the traveling wedding dress quilt...she was born and raised in Nebraska and lived her whole life there. The quilt has a lot of…Continue
I am in need of 1/3 to 1/2 yard of each of the pictured fabrics from the 'Whirlwind Romance' collection from 2011. I need to make 4 more bargello strips to complete my quilt top. I will pay for the fabric and postage to get it to me. Thank you in advance for any help you can give me. Just leave me a note here or on my page and we'll get in touch.…Continue
This winter, my BFFs have been going to the movies once a week in the afternoon. The theater offers a card that you get points for free stuff. So, after going for a month ( we're a little slow on the uptake), we decided we should join. We received a voucher for $2 off a SMALL bag of popcorn. While the others were filling out their cards, I asked the manager, does this really mean a free bag(how much could a small bag cost)? He said, no a small bag is $6...ARE you kidding me...The ticket to…Continue

Hi everyone, hope you are well and don't catch any of the nasty flu that is going around. I lost 2 cousins last week from the flu, one was 79 and the other 85 and neither should have died from it but they did. It really scares me but I will just keep myself away from crowds and hope my daughter doesn't bring any nasty germs home from work. I just saw cousin Louis on Wed, we were all at a Wake for Dorothy and on Sat he died.
Still working on the quilt for my sweet GD, hope to…Continue

I just came home a few hours ago from my first Quilt Retreat! I have to say, I didn't get much done as in completing a quilt. But I did have fun and met a lot of great people. Who I hope to continue to become better friends. Thank you Andi for inviting me to the retreat! I will definitely will be back next year!…Continue
I was asked yesterday, if I ever pre-wash my batting. Never thought about it...but, I answered that I thought it might pull apart in areas. Then later, thought if you had allergies, would that be something you'd want to do. What are your thoughts?
Is anyone else having trouble downloading free patterns on here? I never have before, but can't today! They all come up as "cfm" files, not "pdf" files, so all I get is script. Never has happened before. I have a Mac & my adobe reader is upgraded & all that. DH is a techy & checked everything, & still the same, cfm files? So wanted to let you at CT know, so hopefully, it can be fixed soon! Thanks in advance!

The hospital again. I got a text message from her that she had made it a week and a day. All I had to ask was which hospital was she in. DD was on her way to her car last night and took a nasty fall. She was in the hospital last night having contractions. Her report was that she was having 4 in 30 minutes time. She is fine. Baby Aiden is still in the oven so to speak. She saw her doctors last week and they were going to change her blood thinners next week. I'm thinking now would be a…Continue
Sorry I haven't posted in a while but haven't been feeling well, metally. But, today I have to let you know I just got home from my last chemo treatment and looking forward to moving on. My next step will be surgery in a month or so and then we celebrate. I finally get to retired as the local lab monkey and pack away all those tubes and hanging bags. I'll have a few rough days yet but then I hope to get into my sewing room. I bet there are a gazillion cobwebs I'll have to fight thru…Continue
This was very interesting to watch...enjoy!
I'm not a blogger, but my friends at Connecting Threads sent me here. I'm looking for the focus fabric from a line called Cheep Talk that CT introduced 5-7 years ago. I've used it for baby quilts for 3 nieces and a 4th will be needing one soon. I have the coordinates, but not the focus fabric which is birds on a telephone line......colors beige, orange, teal, yellow. If anyone out there is willing to part with a yard or half a yard, that's all I need. Thank you, Jade
