Ready for Miss Bailey

Can you believe it... in just a month our Miss Bailey will be 3 years old!!! Where did the time go?  I just finished putting in the last stitches on the binding of an Eye Spy type quilt for her birthday. I had all the squares and strips for it in my stash. Just had to buy the sashing and the backing.

Some of the…

Love...Hate Quilt

How many of us have had that project from hell that you've put so much time into it, that you can't quit now.....BUT, every time you work on it...it fights you! I posted last summer a counted cross stitch king size spread that I bought finished, but I am doing the background quilting. After, I sewed the back pieces together and had it sandwiched...I realized one panel was upside down!!! That was a swear-a-thon like no other...contemplated leaving it...but, can't put all those stitches into…

Quilting Again!

Hooray! I have finally gotten the chance to quilt again. It has been a very long time since I could start and finish a quilt project. My latest baby quilt, Fairy Dust, has shown me I am certainly out of practice. But I love the art of quilting, I am not going to complain if I have to re-learn a few skills and techniques.

This is a duplicate post..from Dec26th.

My new baby! Guess her name will be Cinderella!  My husband is replacing the wiring now so that hopefully she will be a useful member of the family. I'm a little skeptical on her abilities noting that she only has one feed dog, but she was so cute I couldn't resist her.  I read up on these machines, although there is not a lot of information, she is a post WWII machine from Japan. At that time Japan was recovering from the war, producing and…

my survey says DD isn't allowed to have more kids PERIOD!!!!!

I was sitting here reading posts and sent a text message to DD who was suppose to be at work.  Less than a minute later she calls me. Mom has ESP. She was literally walking out the door of the hospital and not from the department she works in, this was once again the ER.  DD fainted at work.  I bet her boss will be glad when Aiden is born. She had low blood sugar after according to her she had 20 oz coffee, candy, cookies ect ect.  Fainting in her chair at work, only my daughter. Once again…

And the survey says:

Good morning, afternoon, evening

Many of you know that I just bought the brother PS 1500 machine for doing quilting.  This is a new adventure for me as I have been doing quilting on my longarm.  Call it age or gravity, whatever, I have found that I can't handle standing for long periods of time after I get home from the day job. I have been playing around a bit with the free motion quilting on this brother machine and I do like it except, (you knew that there had to be and exception)…

Charity Quilts Plus

Stopping in to say Hello to everyone.  I check postings almost daily but have not taken the time to post.  I uploaded some new pictures of quilts I have finished this past 15 mths.  I have made 35 tops and quilted them for charity.  The other ladies in our group finish the binding.  I find I do not have pictures of all of them and I have been going back through my pictures and printing them for a quilt picture journal.  I went to retreat with my DD and we started quilts for the two GD that…

I still miss Mr Man and Precious and have my moments but they will always live on in my heart!!  Christmas was quiet here, no visitors, just dh and myself. …

High Fiber—Winter Projects

We were supposed to have Vintage Stitchers at my house last Thursday, but DH is still down with a bad cold, one we would rather not share with our friends. Barbara stepped in (she was my backup in case of snow) and hosted us at her house. Ellen is back in town and brought her Hibiscus quilt top to give to Julie for quilting.

Here they were holding up the…

Sewing keeps me sane...to a point!

12 more tiny burial bonnets ready to ribbon.

The lovely off white fabric was found at Heavenly Patchwork in Waconia.  Stitched up like a dream…the machine didn’t munch on a single one! Once I get the satin ribbons added these will more than likely be going out to God’s Tiny Angels in West Virginia…

Quilts Are Done!!!

It's been so long since I posted that I almost forgot how.  Here's the quilts that I got done in time for Christmas.  I made 2 of the pastels quilts so got 4 done which is really good for slow me.  Now that I'm used to my Brother PQ1500s, I'm really going to town.  I love that machine.  I'm working on one for myself that I started quite a few years ago.  It's just so nice to be able to spread everything out and work. The problem is that's all I want to do now.  Eleanor Burns said the other…

It's been a long time...

Hello everyone. It has been a very long time since I posted here. However, I visit almost every day and keep up with what all of you are up to. I have two of my latest projects to share with you. In April 2012 three friends and I took a vacation trip to southern Spain. This was my first time out of the United States, so it was quite an adventure for me. We stayed with my friend's cousin who lives Marbella which made the trip very personal. She knew the best places to go to eat and visit. As…

Easy Street

Finished the top for Bonnie Hunter's Easy Street quilt. Took about 10 weeks to do, sewing a few days per week.  This was a mystery quilt and I'll tell you why I love mysteries...because if I had seen the outcome at the onset I would've shouted "Hell no, I won't sew!"....so many pieces! and it looks so complicated! but in-fact, it was true to its name...Easy Street...easy peezie.  My favorite part was…
