Organizational Tips?

Do you have organizational tip? I need all the help and ideas to get my mess in order, but here is what I have been doing.

I have been doing "Grandmothers Choice", Block of the week for the last 18 weeks, (if you have not started come on over to the group, it is like 35 weeks.) Since half of the blocks so far have their own pattern, the pieces can get lost. I have found that a picture of the block with the pieces put into sandwich size bag helps. Especially since I have gotten weeks…

Swap Finished

In the ACEO group we did a Winter themed swap called 'Inside & Out'.  Partner A created a winter themed 4"x6" picture and sent it to Partner B, who then added the border and additional art to go with the picture.  It was really a great swap, stretching us in our creativeness.  Hope you enjoy the Smilebox that shows what we did.…

Pillow Cases for Sandy Hook

I just finished sewing 5 cases for Sandy Hook, will look for more fabric tomorrow so I can send 6. Most of this came from CT, the Kitty one I had for a long time so used it just to get rid of it.

Don't you just hate it when

you buy fabric for a specific project and then later decide one of them just won't work?!  My name was drawn for a friendship block swap at my guild so I have to have my stuff ready by this coming Tuesday.  So the other day I drive to Columbia (about 20 miles) to take advantage of the sales at the 3 LQSs.  I discovered the Independence Trail line by Minick & Simpson for Moda and fell in love with it so decided to buy some for my birthday blocks.  Well, when I got it out to press it and…

Back to real life

Well it is back to the real world, paying bills and cleaning and washing.  I am hoping to get to my sewing machine today and start on a quilt for my new great granddaughter.  She was born December 2nd.  I have not made a quilt for myself in a long time.  I am always doing one for a client.  My sister and her hubby are on the way home from So Padre Island.  They decided that being home would be better.  The DIL"sare looking right now for doctors to get him into.  So far it looks like the…

Way too much HGTV

Thank goodness it is a work day for hubby. He decided to do a little redecorating in his home office. We have a breezeway between the kitchen and the garage that has a lower level. That's his office and play area for the grandsons and mine is up above. I went out for a little shopping and on return he had gone through the house and collected all his "stuff and hung it on the wall! That's not too bad cause that are is recessed enough you don't really see all of it.…

some new year's activity

Preemie sized flannel quilt

made from the charm pack from Heavenly Patchwork…didn’t have quite enough girlie shades so I mixed in a couple scrap squares left over from cutting out diapers.  Threw in 2 borders to square it up.  It’s backed with cupcakes on pink flannel with iron on batting and machine quilted…very cute and snuggly.  All of 20 inches square and…

A big wind blew 2012 out and left us with several inches of snow  and very cold tempertures to boot.  Right now 30 degree's would feel like a heat wave.  Well, what can I say it's Winter in Maine.  Cold temps, snow and winds are common this time of year (like many of the States) so we just have to grin and bear it.

I have been in the mood for some changes today. I get really sick of looking at the same things in the same places all the time so every once in awhile when the mood hits,…
