Hi:
Well after spending another night at the local hospital with our DD whose giving me more gray hairs than should be allowed. She is now 34 1/2 weeks along and having pre-term labor. They give her the meds and babies heart rates goes down, off the meds and she contracts and has the problems that follows contractions. Well we are home again having a huge cup of chicken noodle soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. Ok back to the hosptial time, I put together a bucket of fabric, needles,…

This one is going off to England with me in April.

Yes, even here in Maine we get rain in Feb. at least it is not all the snow that just south of us got this past week!
after that last quilt that I did, I felt that I needed something small to do, so I made a table runner out of some FQ's that I got from CT. this is only the second runner that I have made and still flying by the seat of my pants. I just look to see what everyone else does and try to "follow" the pattern. anyway, it is a Carol Doak PP Mariners compass block…

Up early this morning. Can you believe the cable guy is coming? Strange, but true. My only hope is that he shows so I can still get to church. It might be late service, but church nonetheless. I suppose that's life in the big city working on the weekend-I bet he is as excited to be coming to our house as I am to have him come. Mr. Man Cave bought a new flat screen HD tv. Went all over the place price comparing…

I have been away as a paying guest in one of our local hospitals for the past week. I came home last evening to begin the slow healing process of gathering
my feet beneath me & I shall attempt the good fight to getting better.

Good afternoon to all. I had an extremely bad day at work. Working in retail (Grocery store) I see a couple hundred people a day. When they come at you one after another and stand there waiting for you to figure out what they want-it does get on your nerves. I am not a mind reader!!! I had a customer today who was having a bad day and decided to take it out on me, unfortunately she also called our customer service to complain about me. They called me and for once they and the store manager…

I had plans for this weekend involving an anniversary steak dinner w/ my husband and DD at Grammy's . My plans had been changed, unfortunatley. (My husband passed away earlir this month.) I told Summer, my DD, that she could invite one girl to spend the night since I had the weekend off anyway. I honestly didn't think I could handle any more than one. I was right. Both Summer and her friend are being very well behaved, but they are 10 and 9 and just being giggly. I wonder if I was like this…

So I finished my 1st attempt at a Double Wedding Ring quilt, well the top any way. I bought batting and backing today and am planning on layering it shortly. But let's just say I am definately less than satisfied with it at this point. I think its horrid, puckery in places, streched in others, definately does not lay flat. I'm hoping some of the issues will be smoothed out a bit in the quilting process but in other places its is so warpped there is no hope. I also wanted to make a…

just finished up this quilt. spent the morning finishing up the binding, now it is in the washer to freshen it up. dont know what I will do with it, but it is done! getting better with the techniques, most of my corners match, only off by a smidge here and there. one of these days I will be satisified that all my corners match. now if I can get comfortable with the quilting! I used the "water/fire" on this one. think that it came out halfway decent. problems with the thread, it kept breaking…

Yes, yes...I know you looked and looked for chapter three of the new online quilt book. It's up now! I had a snag with copying and pasting it for some reason. I think it was a glitch with my site host or something. In any case, it's up!
I will be including patterns with the book as the guild in the story makes a quilt for the state fair, so if you want to make your own along with the storyline, it will be free and fun!
Let me know your comments on the…

And I'd rather be sewing. I just got a small embroidery machine, and I am having a blast making some applique baby animals for a baby quilt for my best friends daughter.
I finished the quilt for my Step Daughter to take with her and she loved it.
Oh and I ordered the cake topper (Jim Shore's Bride and Groom) for my wedding cake, now if we could just set a date that didn't get changed. Unfortunately we both work for the same company and it's hard to get time off…
