I hope this post finds everyone well. I have been fighting allergies all week. The pollen level here has gone up to spring time levels. Itchy, watery eyes, sneezing, sinus drainage. Just miserable. But I know it will end, someday. Daffodils are in full bloom along with our Arizona Ash tree. Even our Chinese pistache is trying to bud out. Way to early. I pray we do not get a hard freeze now. I have even seen robins. So all of you that have snow, please send it elsewhere.…Continue
As I wrote last week, cutting your knitting can be a scary prospect.…Continue
The Quilt Lover's Hangout in North Ft. Myers, Fl had show and tell while you sipped mimosas! Now, that is a nice way to spend a couple hours while the guys are at the Daytona 500. The picture shows about a quarter of the shop...great store. What's nice is they rent machines for $10. Next year, I will bring mine. Bought a few fat quarters of fabrics that look like water for a wallhanging.…Continue
Life takes some very unexpected turns. This is what has been happening with me,
On Jan 7th Don left about 1:30p to take a drive while I went to a church meeting. He takes many drives and always comes back in time for supper at 5p so at 6:30, when he wasn’t back yet and it was dark, I called the town marshall and asked "when should I start to panic." He said he would be right there and he was. Don would not…Continue
Thank you for reading my blogs.
What a crazy week starting with the weekend before Valentine's day. My husband and I were sort of anticipating a 'surprise' visit from our youngest son, Kyle. He is a Valentine's baby and knows how much I hate driving in Dallas, Tx. This year was different. Saturday we got a late afternoon call from Darren, (3rd child of 4 and youngest twin). They were going to have a get together for family and friends on Sunday. So, fast plans for a…Continue
This is an old design from my stash, 1989 to be exact. I counted 27 designs I have left to complete. I have pledged not to draw any new ones until those get done. At the rate I'm going it'll be 10 or so years before I get done. Ouch!
I have been away from the quilting floor for awhile. This design isn't exactly my own, but comes from the desert of Nazca. So I was a bit lazy in the design department sheesh! lol
A few years ago I hosted a swap with the Machine Embroidery Buddies group & chose owls as the theme. Eight of us participated so I ended up making 2 blocks in order to have enough for a wallhanging. I made the block that is the center of the 1st row and the block of the owl wearing overalls in the bottom row. After all if you live in farm country in Missouri, you need an owl that wears overalls right?! It will hang in my newly repainted office once I get a new curtain rod to hang it…Continue
Making a commitment to sew at least an hour everyday has paid off with the completion of this quilt top. It has been kicking around in my UFO basket for at least 8 years as cut pieces to make pinwheel blocks. It feels good to be done with the top and to move on to something else.Continue
Last week I started working on a doll sweater pattern to help people learn how to make steeks using a small project.
Most of us are intimidated by steeks until we make something using this technique.…Continue
A little birdie told me it is Pam Nieman's birthday today. Is that right, Pam? If so - Happy Birthday!!!! Have a great day! (The world's a little better place just because you were born.)
What a fabulous show they put on! Amazing quilts and wonderful people...these are three of the top winners. So much talent, I'm glad I wasn't judging! The gals from Quilt Lover's Hangout quilt shop had …Continue
Morning everyone. Since I do not post much, know that I do read the posts. I will try to post a blog once a week on Mondays from now on.
This past week was a busy one for me. We have 2 birthdays, one today Feb 14 (yes, our youngest was born on Valentine's day.) He is a real sweetheart. Our first grandson was born on the 19th. So it is coming up.
I started last week weaving. I wanted to finish a towel so I could try it out on my embroidery machine. It…Continue

I have a blog post that I started late last year. It has had no traffic and I was wondering if it was worth it. So, here is a link to it. But I will be moving it here from this day forward.
Old Blog: Spirit Led Crafts
I will post more tomorrow, but then will resume my Monday postings next week.
May you have a Spirit Led week.
I finally got to a Vintage Stitchers meeting!
You have already seen quilt tops and UFOs from Barbara's friend who passed away. The…Continue
We arrived to our rental last Saturday. I found it on the internet. We have already rented it for next year. It is a great place and close to shopping. The pool and I became close buddies immediately! There is a canal in the background that takes you to the Gulf of Mexico and Sanibel Island. We have a friendly turtle we feed in the evenings. It is a fresh water canal...alligators could be in there, so no dangling feet!! We have enjoyed finding our favorite Tiki Bar by the water...that's…Continue
I'm dog sitting this weekend. This is the first time I have met this sweet dog. I still miss Holly so I'm really loving having Katy here with me. She is a Pit Bull mix. She lives in Gordonville Canada. My son got her from a shelter in Ontario. He had a hard time getting her to come into the apartment but once he left she and I bonded quickly. I might lock the door when I see him coming so he can't take her home. lol…Continue
This is Vroni
More about Vroni later. The big project this week was the scarf that has been on my…Continue
We left just before a snow storm hit our area. We breezed through the south to Daytona for one night. Always like to stay on the beach...sleep with the sliding doors open and listen to the waves. I'm not a sunrise girl, but like to get up and watch the sun come out of the ocean!!!
We are in Orlando for three days at a time share sales pitch...of course we won't be buying in...but, three nights at a resort for $169 I'll listen to their chatter. Head out to Cape Coral in the…Continue
For me, the hardest part is making a decision on a pattern and actually making that first cut. It seems like once that first cut is made, I'm committed, and then things progress.
I've been dithering over my grandson's train quilt since forever (well, about 2 years now), and I think DD has given up on me ever getting it finished. Just getting it started seemed to be the hurdle. Of course I didn't have a pattern in mind before I bought the fabric. I've looked at it and petted it…Continue
