Hi everyone, It has been a very busy weekend. First I worked (for free) at the IX Center at the Quilting Expo. That was fun. Though the class I was an assistant for had only one student. And It was for knitting and croceting which I have not done for a very long time. But I was able to take the class with the student and It turned out to be fun. I met my friend Bonnie there and we walked around to see all the vendors. I was good though I did not spend any money. Then my hubby and myself went to… Continue

Good day all. I realize that the words of the day are repeating....I get them directly from the website...but I'm going to continue to post them as I need to be reminded of all the messages that they send.
Finally feeling better. Going back to work today. I know I have LOTS of checks to print for our customers.
Remember to say that extra prayer for all the flooding victims in ND and the folks in the south who were effected by the storms.
God Bless and have a great… Continue

Don't know why but my mind seems to be in overdrive; couldn't sleep last night and can't relax this morning. So, lucky you - here I am again. Because I've been tracing patterns, and because Garage Sale season is almost here, I wanted to share with you that my light board is a Barbie fashion tracing board that I purchased at a garage sale for about $1.00. It is not a big board, about 9"x11" ,but it has worked well for me and you can't beat the price! So, if you're looking for a light board and… Continue

Before I left for Texas on Friday, my computer screen went totally black. I did all the regular "try to fix it yourself" things and nothing happened so I unplugged it over the weekend and DH couldn't figure out what was wrong. He is taking it to work tomorrow to plug it into a monitor. Hopefully, it is just my screen and not my hard drive. That will be the second one in less than five years. Out of everyone in my family, I baby the things and mine is the only one that ever crashes.… Continue

It's always a sad day after the quilt show closes. We were so fortunate that our weather held so that travelling was good for everyone. We had a few tense moments though with snow appearing on Friday night. This was a special year for me as I was able to meet some of the ladies that I've been corresponding with both on this website and the Canadian Quilters Online at Yahoogroups.com. We all brought something to the table that excited others and just being able to meet one another was enough for… Continue

Well almost finished..........I decided it NEEDED some embroidery on it so now I am embroidering flowers, stems & leaves in the dark plain squares. I am slipping the needle between the layers so the back looks neat and clean. Am I asking for a little "punishment"? NO, I am sewing in my love for her with every stitch (again)! I've also finished the pillow/back rest cover and will have to purchase a big pillow to slip into the cover........it's washable and at 11 she'll be able to easily slip… Continue

It is still cold here in Wisconsin even though the sun is shining. One sure sign that winter is near the end is we finished our curling season today. My husband and I curl (and try to remain upright on the ice). This weekend was our end-of-the-year bonspiel (tournament). We curled on Wed., Fri., Sat., and today. Last night was also the cocktail party, dinner, and dancing. We made it to the final four, but this sure cut into my quilting time. I have been trying so hard to finish some UFO's. I… Continue

Well, it's currently a sunny Sunday here. It's springtime in the Rockies. A blizzard with heavy snow and high winds is predicted for tonight so I took the dogs for their big walk early today. Now they think it's time for dinner and they have 2 1/2 more hours to wait, to follow me around and look sad. They usually eat an hour after our walking time.
I did get some quilting done this weekend--Yeah! I made a purse to donate to a silent auction. I used the "Bow Tucks Tote" pattern by… Continue

We had a blizzard yesterday, now today the snow is almost gone. Patches here and there. DH is working, so spent my time in my sewing space. Made a table runner with left over material from the quilt top I made yesterday. Let's see if it post.

We've had cold weather which has slowed the snow melt and lowered the crest prediction for our full Red River. Someone described our Red River Valley (bottom of prehistoric Lake Aggasize) as a table top with a scratch going fom the top to the bottom )with the scratch being the Red River. Once it leaves its banks, it spread out far and wide. It was a relief to hear of the lower crest predictions. However, the water will be contained between the dikes for about a week before the water will be… Continue

It is slightly rainy in Upstate New York today, so I should be cleaning my house, but instead decided to finish my trip around the world quilt. I got the top finished and will probably mark it for quilting later tonight. I am considering donating it to my son's pre-school for use in a charity raffle, but am waiting to see how the quilting will turn out, because I am still new to machine quilting using my home sewing machine.
I live on a farm with my husband, 3 kids and diabetic… Continue

Ispent the day yesterday going on a day trip with my DH to Evansville, IN. I was excited to do this as they have a Super JoAnnes there and wanted to talk to the Viking Sewing Machine people there about my machine. My local dealer from whom I had bought the machine from went belly up about a year ago and left me high and dry. The closest dealer is in Edwardsville, IL. Evansville is a good hour and a half from where I live so I don't get there very often but there is some great shopping there.… Continue

Yesterday morning as I looked into my back yard garden I had beautiful daffodils in almost all of their color combinations blooming in the garden beds. This morning as I look out that same window, there is a good five inches of snow covering everything! Last week it was 85 degrees. This morning it was 25!
The sun is shining brightly. Some of the ice that formed on the trees and shrubs from the rain and sleet we had fall prior to the snow is starting to melt. Snow melt is starting to… Continue

Open and Receptive
I am open and receptive to divine inspiration.
I may not always be conscious of the ongoing monologue taking place in my mind. At times my thoughts may take an about turn and become lost in examination of the past or worry about the future.
There is a better way: My practice of daily meditation lays the foundation for greater awareness at all times. This awareness helps me turn away from any repetitive,… Continue

It has been snowing for about 6 hours with really big flakes. I would guess that we have about 6 inches so far. It is still snowing so I am not sure how much we will end up with. We got out for a bit this AM to get our Passports. We are going to Hamilton Ontario in August for a True Kindred event. I am really excited about the trip. I was able to sew for most of the day. I will try and post my Black, White, Red Wall Hanging, but it turned out pretty big so I think it can be a lap quilt. My DH… Continue
