The rain just started here in south Georgia, has been raining west of here most of the day and looks like it might rain here most of the night.
I have been working on several things at once again. I finished a table runner a couple weeks ago, my 1st purchase from CT. Then I have been working on setting 12 pieced blocks in a queen size quilt, I have the top almost complete and I already have the fabric for the back. I haven't decided if I will try to quilt myself, use the LA at my LQS… Continue

We didn't get the rain this morning but it did start to sleet about 1 and has now turned to SNOW. They are threatening 3-6 inches of the wet stuff - I so pray they are wrong. Got the workshop samples made yesterday finally and the photos taken; just have to tweak the supply list and add the picture to the publicity info and ship off for the newsletter. Now I must start work on a rose challenge wall hanging and a butterfly challenge wall hanging; fortunately they are designed and just need some… Continue

I just got back from it... all I can is WOW WOW and more WOW! there were LOTS of beautiful quilts... and funny quilts and too many "I want to do that" quilts lol. Took lots of pics that I won't post on here since the quilts aren't mine and I didn't ask permission to post. Heard quilter MaryLou Hallenbeck (www.hddesigns.com) speak and saw many of her beautiful quilts/patterns - Got lots of ideas and hints from her - I even won a pattern & fabric for a table runner. Can't wait to try out some… Continue

Boy the weather got bad really fast here in Belton, MO. It rained most of the night and morning and about 1:00 pm it started to snow and sleet. That means we will not be getting out tonight to go to Eastern Star. I get to go to my sewing space and do some sewing. The Mizzou game is on today, (Ks lost last night) so my DH will be watching that game. Got a little laundry to do, but that is all. The snow and ice sure is pretty, but hazardest when you have to be out in it. Our poor dogs are afraid… Continue

I believe that you are right, Sunshine, I too recall a washer on the Fiskars cutter. I just checked and it is not there. Meanwhile (BLUSH), I discovered that I own another cutter that I have hardly used, so I'll try that one out and see if I can get comfortable with it. Hope to make it to my S.Rm. later today. First tho, I have to scoop litter boxes, fill food and water dishes, sweep, vacuum, do laundry (including our bedding, seems one of the cats threw up on our bed - couldn't they get down… Continue

Good morning, Sorry I haven't been here in a few days, but I've been under the weather with the flu. Guess it was my turn. Feeling a little better today, thank God.
Let's all say a special prayer for everyone across our great country that are dealing with all this horrible spring weather, be it floods, tornados, or blizzards.
Everyone have a joyous day.

Today my sister and I went to the Tri Cities (Washington) Quilt Show. Had a great time viewing lots of gorgeous quilts, including the Hoffman Challenge quilts. While there I met Debbie Snyder, one of the members of Quilt with Us. It is so much fun to meet in person someone you've become friends with online. It's to great to have this website (thanks CT) that brings people with the love of quilting together. I got a couple patterns at the show and some fabric at quilt shops on our way home, as… Continue

I was asked by someone tonight if I would make a quilt for with Harley T-shirts that she has. Does anyone have any ideas or a name of a book where I could get ideas. I have know ideas where to start. Or how to go about it.

The rain is suspose to bring up to 15 inches of snow tomorrow. If it does I will be in the sewing space all day. We have the day off work as we are to go to Eastern Star for an inspection. If it snows we won't go. I worked today at the quilt shop, it was so cold in the shop. Bought enough material for 2 projects and the new Moda paperdoll material. I will be making the paperdolls for my great granddaughter. I finished one project after I got home. My DH had to work tonight. I posted the… Continue

thank u to this site for reconnecting me with people who i met 43 years ago. because of my blog post asking if anyone here attended or knew of someone who attended the sahuaro school for asthmatic children, someone found me. when i was 8 years old, i was sent to tucson, arizona to attend a boarding school for asthmatics along with 75 other very sick children. between the ages of 6 to 8 years of age, i was given the last rites on four occasions. my parents made a difficult decision to send me… Continue

I am cutting out 4&1/2" squares using my rotary cutter and ruler. My cutter is a very plain, basic Fiskars, somewhat old. The blade is coming loose with every two cuts that I make. I am getting tired of tightening it up (and trying not to make it too tight) and wondering if there is a better cutter out there. Mine has a plastic screw? nut? that holds the blade on. Maybe it is just worn out? Anyone else have this problem? Or a solution? Thanks!

I have always wanted to make a double wedding ring quilt but could never motivate myself to start one even though I have the templates and know what I want it to look like. So.. Today I started a new group for Double Wedding Ring quilts. The purpose of the group will be to encourage, motivate and help others to enjoy making a double wedding ring quilt. And... after I started the group, I discovered (Thanks to Elaine) that CT has the double wedding ring paper patterns on sale for 40% off this… Continue

I'm packed and ready to go......Sunglasses? Check! Flip Flops? Check! Socks? Nope! I'm headed to Southern Calif to help a friend turn 50 and I'll be there through TUFO (Tues night UFO), so I'll be WUFO instead. It's supposed to be 72 while I'm there, so I can hardly wait! The first day is an all day limo ride through Temecula wine country, the next day is a beading class (great another hobby!), and Monday is all day at a spa.....ahhhhhhhh.

Max is an Australian Shepherd--black and white with a few brown accents. He, like all Aussies, has a very strong sense of what is right and proper in his world and is very vocal if anyone disagrees. The magpies come in the early spring and stay until the robins form a gang and run them off.
A huge magpie and Max are having issues. The magpie, shiny black and white with blue, loves to tease Max. From my office/sewing room window I have been watching the battle. The magpie will swoop… Continue

And my weekend started when I walked out of the office last night! We are headed to a B&B in Gig Harbor for the weekend for our anniversary! See some friends, wander through little towns, enjoy ourselves. I am taking the umbrella, for sure, since the Seattle forecast is for rain. Well, it is the northwest in spring! I am taking a quilt I have about 24 inches of binding left to stitch. We will meet with friends and I will give it away tonight. A baby girl quilt! It was so much fun to make… Continue

Life is too short to wake up with regrets.
So love the people who treat you right.
Love the ones who don't just because you can.
Believe everything happens for a reason.
If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands.
If it changes your life, let it..
God never said life would be easy.
He just promised it would be worth it.

I'm quilting this weekend and nobody can stop me! My New Year's resolution was to make more time for quilting and I was doing pretty good until March. I've barely lifted a fabric square all month. I've had family obligations on a few weekends and I spent some time spring cleaning on other weekends. But not this weekend! I'm quilting no matter what. My husband is out of town until late Saturday night which leaves me all night tonight and tomorrow to quilt completely undisturbed. Well, not… Continue

Things aren't going so good here. My sister tried to take off today. First I called the ambulance (once I found her) cause her b/p was up so high. Needless to say, she refused to go to hospital. We managed to get her back to my apartment but she tried to leave again so I had to call police. Come to find out, I can't do anything to stop her since I don't have power of attorney or she is not court ordered to be with me. If she leaves I have to let her. I couldn't believe they told me this knowing… Continue
