She's here!

We came into the hospital at 6 am and started the induction. Everything was going well epideral was in and we were just waiting. Next thing we know the babbies heart rate was down to 30's and then nothing. They came running full speed and she was in the OR and baby was out within 4 mins. So we are welcoming Leticia Victoria Richardson at 11:03 Colorado time, weighing in at 7 lbs 2 ozs and 19 3/4 inches. She has tons on black hair and Mommy and baby are doing well.…

FYI

Good afternoon to all.

I was just going through my emails and found that Sharon Schamber has gotten her new website up and running. If I knew how to put it on here for you to link to I would. You do have to register to use the site but she has alot of information on the site plus her classes if you want to take them. (I will be in the near future)

She also has a general chat section, I know that gets us all into trouble!!! You can post pictures of your quilts and ask questions…

Vacation?

All right, what part of the word 'vacation' is not clear to anyone? At 7:45 am this morning I sent an e-mail to my client saying that I am taking the next 3 days off for vacation due to family reasons, and I said I would not be available at all, and if there's any emergency on their end to call my back-up engineer. So what does the client do? - send me e-mails (6 of them), calls my home phone twice, and calls my cell-phone 4 times. I have purposely taken the vacation because I need to step away… Continue

Alternate Quilting Reality

I just realized that I must live in an alternate quilting universe and sometimes when my alternate world and reality collide sometimes it hurts.I don't know where I get the ideas that projects I decide to take on are simple but usually about three quarters of the way through them reality hits and I am left standing dumbly trying to figure out what exactly I was thinking at the time I took the project. I must also have all the time in the "alternate" world to quilt to my hearts content because I… Continue

oxycotin spammer is gone

Thanks to everyone that notified me quickly, I was able to remove the spammer the moment I logged in this morning, over my morning coffee at home :)

It sometimes takes up to an hour for all signs of the spammer to be removed.

Applique Question

Good Morning everyone I have enrolled in a BOM and it is a turn applique and i have never done that before . I watched a video on you tube looked easy there but my pieces are tiny with zig zag edges like maple leaves . Im not to sure how you can fold all that under and look nice . tried one leaf and burnt my finger on iron not cool. Do you think it would look just as nice if i just use a fusible web and iron it on and sew around it. What do you folks think i should do?Thank you for any advice.… Continue

Swap block for yahoo group...

here is block # 2 from the Build a Block Round robin!

Dilemma of the best kind, I need advice

My DH wants to buy me a new sewing/embroidery machine and we've kinda narrowed it down to two machines. I'd like honest opinions of which one you would recommend, or if there is one I haven't looked at yet.

I'm looking for a sewing/embroidery machine that I don't have to remove the embroidery module on to make it be a sewing machine.

The two choices are the Bernina 730 or the Janome 11000SE

Thanks!!!!!

Here she comes!

We saw my DD Dr last week, and said he would talk to us about induction at the next visit, if she didn't go on her own. He prob didn't even remember that he was taking this week off for Spring break, anyways so we go to her Dr's visit yesterday and another Dr. walks in. She was rude from the get go, when asked about the induction she replied I don't run the practice that way and if he wants to risk it be my guest but I won't do it. She carried on and on like he was the most irresponsible Dr…

Looky Looky

I LOVE my UPS man!!! He dropped off my FabShopHop prize today. I won the "grand prize" back in December and hadn't had anything come so I emailed them and this was sent within the week. There was supposed to be something else, a vacuum sealer, but I am not too worried about that and will definitely make use of this iron. It is my favorite color… Continue

Frustration with a capital F

How do you spell the word frustration? This morning I am spelling it with a capital F!

I was doing some free motion quilting on the outer border of a quilt. I was really into the rhythm of the design and everything was going so smoothly. Then I decided to look at the back to see how it looked from that side. That is when I discovered that for the last ten or so inches, the outer edge of the backing (you… Continue

Son Mark update

Mark goes for MRI and EEG testing today at 3pm and 5pm here at the hospital I work at. Later, in the week we think-he will have a sleep test, since that's when the seizures seem to take place. He had another bad one last night after we got home from a family funeral (15 hrs total with driving!) right after all of us had just fallen asleep. Scared me to death! This is nuts. The neurologist said Friday that it was not migraines or cluster headaches-which run in the family. He said "This…

Sunday past~

Hi Everyone! Hope the weather is getting better and better each day your way!

We are having warmer weather, slowly, some ups and downs along the way, but it is coming!!

As for this past Sunday, we had two of our grandchildren, Cleo and Savannah here coloring easter eggs. Since I will be gone next week having Easter with two of the other grandkids in NC, we did eggs early. We also hid plastic eggs with coins and small Easter baskets, in different rooms for them to find. It was a…

Of course after my DH reads the paper I will scan and post, because I have to cut the paper up to do it. It gave me a few giggles.

Quilting Truckers

Did anyone see the article in the Wall Street Journal today? Headline:

IDLE PASTIME: IN OFF HOURS, TRUCKER PICK UP STITCHING.

It seems with less to haul, drivers try new hobbies; QUILTING IN THE CAB.

When you are tired of sock monkeys...

I have made around 20 sock monkeys since last summer...and while I enjoy making them, I am getting a little tired of them. First, I tried making the monkeys out of other kinds of socks...very cute! Then I thought...well, the pattern came with a pattern for sock elephants, I wonder how they would look? So I tried 2 of them and here is how they look:…
