I don't get sick often but when I do...

I went to  work yesterday and had a runny nose all morning.  I finally gave up and came home at lunch time. So my boss does know that I am sick and never questions my missing time which by the way is only the 6th or 7th time I've ever called out sick in nearly 20 years of work. After spending yesterday and all night in bed the last thing I want to do is go back to bed but not quite well enough to go to work.  So what does one do when your sick and bored?

We are still living in the RV…

Hello Everyone

Just checking in. It's nice to see some posts on here. I'm hoping to get a Sunbonnet Sue quilt finished. I have  the blocks done but customer orders keep me busy and during the Summer I spend a lot of time out doors so getting anything finished is difficult. Now that Fall is here I won't be outside as much and will have more time to work on my projects. I need to make a quilt for my bed. My quilt is faded, thread bare and needs to be thrown out. And the cats claws are not helping.  I'm also…

We have moved back to the house. Will do long weekends at the lake. It definitely turned cooler. The leaves are turning after this weekend with frost...they will really turn. Have a few projects in mind...have been ask to teach a church group to make pillowcases for the children's hospital and the local nursing home. The first thing will be to oil and clean their machines! They looked like deer in headlights when I asked the last time they cleaned their machines! lol I bought several packs…

Quilt shows

Yesterday I went to a small quilt show put on by a guild I used to belong to.  The membership in this guild is dwindling and it has sure affected the quality of their show!  While most of the quilts were nicely done, there were not nearly as many as in years past.  Kinda sad actually.  It was nice seeing some of the ladies who still belong and they all asked me to come back, but that is not going to happen.  Funny thing happened though.  I met one of their newer members & found out she…

High Fiber—New Addition

This past week most of my time was involved either in preparing for the new arrival or getting him ready to appear in his first story. I made a pair of pajama bottoms for Billy and another one for Emil. I'm using a purchased T-shirt to go with each. (The cute bear fabric came from…

Shhhh Don't tell Aiden!

I gave my new embroidery machine a run for it's money last night.  Now I'm sure every one has an idea of what I am making for my grandson.  So far Mario and Bowser are finished.  I still have several more characters to stitch out but I will be getting them done within the month.…

Finally, I found the last stitch...

I have been stitching this for the past year. It always feels so good to take that last stitch!

This is a gift to our family doctor. He has given us such great care for the past 40 years. Our son and family also go to him. He has been a great friend and asset to our community. He and his wife will greatly appreciate it.…

Well I went and did it again

As some of you know I have been trying to make a quilt for my grandson.  The quilt part is finished but I needed to make some embroidered  designs to applique onto the quilt.  I had a singer quantum 6000 that I loved but the special bobbin for rewinding the bobbin thread broke and I couldn't find any online anywhere.  So that machine went bye-bye and I bought a Brother PE800 machine.  Well I have been trying and trying and trying to get my designs to stitch out without much luck.  Yesterday…

It's my weekend and hoping to get some sewing done.

Life in an RV is a little to cramped for me.  I have been working on a few things.  Besides buying a sitdown quilting machine, I also bought a new embroidery machine.  I've been working on some designs that I hope to get embroidered soon.  It's the quilt I've been planning for Aiden for the last couple years.  I've got the designs ready and hoping the in-laws will let me use their dinning table to work on.  If that works out I just might get the quilt finished in time for Christmas.  My…

Winner of NYS Fair

This is an amazing quilt and truly deserved the win! Over 5000 pieces!!!! Years ago, someone stoled a quilt from the show. Just walked out the back door. Never did recover it...

This was well guarded and seemed like there were more entries this year. Always fun to see the handiwork of all ages!…
