I just got a good exercise today - I let my dgd play with the buttons collections while we were in the sewing room; she decided she wants to bring the collection downstairs, so she let go of the box at the top of the stairs. Guess what she and I did - pick up over a hundred buttons - calories burned 100, unspoken expletives (10 lashes of wet noodles); "Lola(that's Grandma), let's do it again" - priceless.
Bribed her with a piece of chocolate if she'd take a nap so I could rest...worth…

My life is slowly getting back to normal. At least my house looks like it. I have even been to my sewing space and worked on my long arm. I am looking forward to taking classes at the IMQA show in May. That was my birthday present from my husband. I still get tired, but that is getting better everyday. My stomach is still sore and will be for some time. But I can do just about anything I want to. I drove for the first time since January yesterday. It felt kind of strange being behind the…

Ok I've been sewing fan pieces together for the last couple of hours and it is time for a break. I'm working on a replacement quilt for my bed. I hope this quilt last longer than the one on the bed. Wait a minute. the one on the bed has been there for 20 some years. Ok it's only the last couple of years and the three yorkies that have kind of torn it up with their scratching for a softer spot to lay on. I've cut pieces to repair the damaged quilt but I can't work on it while I'm still using…

Today, Mom and I went on our yearly trip to the Sauder's Village Quilt Show in Archbold, Oh. We had a blast, like always. This year, I entered a quilt for the show. Didn't win any ribbons, but I wasn't seriosly expecting too, since it my first time entering a quilt. The quilt I entered is at the bottom.
They have a challange catagory. They provide fabric and a theme and you have to have it a certain size, but other than that, you're free to do what you want. This year's…

I can't believe my baby is going to be 1 year old tomorrow! I remember the birth like it was YESTERDAY! I guess you need more than one year for that to fade or maybe I just have a memory like an elephant when it comes to that! :) I just wanted to post a few more of his Knit Picks pictures - he was modelling the…

After work today I am heading up to my in-law's farm in SW Wisconsin for the weekend (near Wauzeka). I plan on working on a UFO from a class I took from Nora McMeeking called Roman Rings. Her quilts are based on marble tiles in many of the Italian cathedrals. Here's her website.... www.bellabellaquilts.com
I am doing a simplified version of this quilt....…
