but this is the tote I made today.. not exactly following the pattern, but close enough to make me happy :) I really like how it turned out. The 'star' was supposed to be a pinwheel, but I like this even better.Continue
Working on Women of Influence BOM, cut a block wrong, Block 9. Am looking
for a beige print with red & tan flowers by Judy Rothermal by Sturbridge Village.
Any suggestions on any web sites to start with, only need a small piece.
Just moved to Wintersville, Ohio, saw your chats and would
love to connect with other quilters in this area.
I said that I wasn't going to be doing any more sewing/quilting until my friend returns to Scotland next month, but I decided that I'd like a new purse/tote/bag to take with me when we travel to Nashville and I've been wanting to do this one for several months now. The little wallet to go with it was made last year- and it's outside matching the lining of the purse/tote/bag. The pattern is Bow Tucks Tote and was designed by Penny Sturges. ( I made the straps longer than what the pattern…Continue
Finished another Q4K quilt! Football players for a little boy.
I also found a space/astronomy themed cheater panel at the latest guild meeting and I bought that for another Q4K quilt, when I get some time. I'll cut it up and put some pinwheels in between the blocks
Have a happy a Easter…Continue
Did the 6 month medical checkups, blood tests, EKG etc. and the good news is that I can "let go" of the BP medication. The bad news is...I've got to lose weight to get my cholesterol and glucose levels down. You know what that means???? Exercise and eat those veggies, plain and simple. So the plan of action is (and I'm really trying to be upbeat about this)... work out at the Y (weight training and cardio 3X's and a planned physical activity, ie. a program that fits my age and ability,…Continue

Well its been one month since I started the journey. I think that I had finished about 15 blocks before my book arrived. I have just finished 26 blocks.
My Baby Jane is called "Related to Jane" which has a double meaning as I have a daughter Jane. The quilt will eventually go to one of my grand daughters who is of course also related to Jane.
I am not going to include the triangles but will add extra blocks 20b. x 16b. with 1" sashes Total blocks =320 I have been…Continue
Thank you so much for all the support. I hope to be recovered from the surgery in a couple of weeks. I have learned a lot in the last three months, that I can do what it takes. Maybe not 100% of the time but enough to lose some weight. I am really sore from the surgery and hope that goes away when I get the staples out. I am looking forward to making a baby quilt as we just found out our Granddaughter is going to have another baby. Maybe not the best decision in the world, but it will…Continue
The members of our guild decided to do a BOM for the next 12 months. At the end, the blocks will be stacked by the month they were made and then names will be drawn to see who takes which pile home.
We were given the directions and pattern for our first block last night. We were to use a very pale yellow, a med. brown and one or more purples. I came home and started working on it... took a little over an hour or so.... only to find out that it was 12 1/4" x 12 1/4' when it was…Continue

It's been pretty quiet here on the main page. Everyone must be busy quilting.
Spring (I keep telling myself it is spring anyway - no matter how much snow we get!) is a busy time of year here on our place. The cows have been moved from winter feed ground and start their rotation through the summer pastures. We've had good rains and/or heavy, wet snow this spring, so the grass is green & growing. The yearling calves are caked (fed) every morning and they'll be headed to summer…Continue
