Finished a project---a bag to collect threads and little scraps while sewing and a pincushion to hold it onto the edge of the sewing table. I used scraps. I think I'll make one for gift exchange at Christmas party next Dec.…Continue
Yesterday the thermometer in our back yard registered 91 degrees F. Today it is supposed to be even warmer. DH had me turn on the house ac this morning as he cannot take heat. This coming Thursday the weather people say the high temperature for the day will be close to freezing. Is it winter or summer?
This is Brayden(3) he is looking for M&M's. I bought this advent calendar boxes years ago, but leave it up for the boys to find little surprises when they visit. Lately. I put little snack packs of M&Ms...I just love to watch them search and usually they say "not that one"!
Working on a special apron swap…Continue
I'm leaving this afternoon for Washington DC. Have a good time! Enjoy spring. We got some welcome rain last night and the grass happy and the birds are singing.
Vacation is over, time to get back to a routine. I have picked out the quilt tops that I want to work on this week.
Thanks for taking a look.
I have recently realized that a few things have changed. For one thing I am much older than I once was when I could sit and do hand quilting for hours on end, after all I am a Grandma now. Having aquired a massive amount of knowledge (LOL here) in reguards to quilting, I have decided that if you want Aidens quilt before he finishes college that said baby quilt will have to be done by machine.
Having sent this text message to my DD the other day, I waited for her reply, which…Continue

I've been spinning some Knit Picks Full Circle Spinning Roving in various colors. Currently, I have "Pigeon" on the wheel. Here are all the colors together:
The sundress I made our Miss Bailey looks so cute on her. I think she really likes it, don't you? Sound like, however, I need to make the bodice of the next one larger (size 7 bodice, size 6 skirt). She and her mom and dad are settling into life in Arizona just fine so far. Prayers for Adam's new…Continue
Another House quilt all quilted by Rose of Sharon (Sharon Scott) out in Onyx CA, edged, washed dried and ready to be either hung on the wall in our new chunk of home or perhaps put on the couch to keep wee knees warm!…Continue
It's June again in NW Wisconsin. Spring has arrived; if you saw our yard today, you wouldn't believe it's the same home I posted snowy photos of a week ago. All that snow is rapidly disappearing. Ice on lakes is beginning to melt or at least thin out. Daffodil spears are about 4 inches high. Robins have arrived. Yesterday was about 70 and today mid 60s. Yesterday we had our first spring cookout; potato salad and hot dogs. God is good!
I haven't been on here for a while and Pam gave me a little nudge!!!LOL.
Would you believe I have tried doing this twice and seem to have lost it in cyber space!!!
Here we go again!
Just before we went to Florida we got a called from our DS who lives in Hong Kong telling us he had some news. Well I thought for a minute oh they are coming home to Canada! Ah! no!
We are pregnant he says, WOW we said. We were lost for words!! Of course we had been told by both the…Continue
If you want to win a paperback copy of Murder by Serpents: The Mystery Quilt, the drawing is tomorrow. Be sure and put your name on the list.
Commercial is over--now back to quilting! Today I'm working on machine buttonhole around fused car and truck motifs for my grandson. What is everyone else doing?
There's no doubt that when you get three women in a room you're going to have a difference of opinion even if you love each other to death...put thousands on a website and you are bound to rub someone the wrong way on any particular day! That's why this site works...we share ourselves in all aspects of our lives. We have lost a lot of funloving quilters that used to post often or drop in and share their talents and life. We miss you and want to know where you've gone. Don't let a few…Continue
My FB page has been hacked. Whoever did this has sent out an email to my "friends" list inviting them to be my friend. In addition to this invite they have said that I won some kind of lottery (I haven't seen the actual message) and it goes on from there. Please, if you got this email BLOCK IT imediately. I have changed my password and trying to change my profile photo. I haven't been successful doing that yet. I don't like FB since they have switched to Timline. So don't really know…Continue
My Love For Thee is named after a vintage inscription that's in Baltimore Elegance, by Elly Sienkiewicz. It reads:
"My Love for thee, like roses,
Blooms within my heart
And like their lovely fragrance
Never will depart"
One will always wonder who it was that wrote this. If you look in Baltimore Elegance, page 151, you will see the rest of the story.
This quilt was made from a photograph of a quilt that's in the Folk Art Museum in NYC. I took the…Continue

My granddaughter loves to come and play in my sewing room. She'd always grab the drawers of threads, and while I'm on the sewing machine I could hear her playing with the spools of threads as children in a playground. She also loves her tiny princess dolls, and one day she asked to use my camera. She wasn't disturbing me so I let her play to her heart's content. I heard the camera clicking and I asked her what she was taking pictures of; "The Princesses are having their ball, and the…Continue
