A word to the wise: if you think your glue-baste quilting spray is too old, be very cautious about using it. Mine is several years old, and not something I use(d) very often. I can't tell you how old, because I don't remember when I bought it.
I was working on a shannon fabric (minkee) blanket and since it is somewhat slippery, I thought I'd tack it together with small amounts of basting spray.
As I was cleaning the spout, I got some glue on my hands. I sure hope it…Continue
A family friend is organizing an estate auction and asked my opinion on the value of some quilts. I know it is difficult to do from a distance, but anyone have a rough ballpark guess as to what she should expect. …Continue

Yes it was driving me crazy trying to make these blocks. I haven’t done curved piecing in quite a while and the straight cut blocks weren’t exactly symmetrical either. But the top is almost finished. I just need to work on the border pieces and it will be done. Oh and this one is mine. Not going to give this one away. Lol Sorry I don’t know why it keeps trying to post picture sideways…Continue
Our campsite was pretty private for the first three days of our camping trip.…
Hi. I have recently begun working with HSTs. What ruler do you all prefer to use for squaring up HSTs? I am looking at purchasing either Clearly Perfect Slotted Trimmers or Bloc Loc ruler or Quilt In A Day Square Up Triangle Ruler.
I would appreciate your recommendations.

Lately I have been in the mood to start going through my quilt room as well as my 2nd bedroom where I store some of my quilt stuff, but mostly yarn, to get more of an idea of what I have. I don't know whether to feel happy that I probably don't need to buy anything other than thread, batting and stabilizer (for my embroidery machine) for the next several years or guilty because I have so much stuff! I found kits I had forgotten I even had. That makes me feel guilty.

Been working on this since February, I believe. Just finished it. I hand quilted the straight lines; the wavy lines within the tree branches are by machine.
This year Mother's Day is going to be very different for a lot of us. Never thought I would see the day that the entire world would be suffering from such a horrible pandemic! Since I can't spend the day with my daughter & her family, I am going to spend the majority of it in my sewing room.
I delivered the last of the face masks to the food bank this morning. I made 421! I absolutely ran out of fabric! It feels great to clear out some bins for a good cause. We opened the lake house this past weekend. Our weather has been crazy cold for this time of the year! Mother's Day will be quiet...too cold for a driveway visit! will have to zoom it. Wishing all a wonderful Mother's Day. Stay safe...but, get out there and take our life back.…Continue
I took another 100 face masks to the med center today. I think I will move on to something else, also. This is my 3rd week off work, I go back Monday. I wouldn't mind another week off, but I am so thankful I have a job to go back to.
Here’s the before and after pictures of my newly finished fan quilt. I bought 15 hand pieced fan arcs last year at a flea market for a few dollars. You can see that the size varied. I ended up…Continue
