I am the worst blogger..

It has been a year, where in the world has time gone? We did spend 5 months in Arizona and the weather was Hot but it was lovely to have sunshine everyday. I am thinking 5 months is a bit too long. We were house sitting for Roberts sister while her and her husband were traveling. We had a great time then had to head home to reality, yard work ugh lol.

A lot of stuff going on since we came back.. Mother's Day Celebration at my daughters in Eastern Washington.. Then about a week later… Continue

Can we skip 2016?

Seriously, All the singers, Prince, Glen Fry, one of my favorites, and all the others we lost this year so far.  The other half here at home posted on face book that Ozzy Osborn should post a video so that we knew he was still alive.

On a more personal note, things haven't been much better here.  Mom had bronchitis and was in the hospital when she couldn't breath very well last month.  It may sound harsh to some but I did tell my family that I needed help with her.  No one goes over…

Arbor Window Quilt and Pillow Shams

Ann-Done

In 2012, I started an Arbor Window Quilt for my son with Japanese taupes. I used a pattern by the same name that I wrote for the Neutral Love collection. I finished the quilt and made two pillow shams recently. You can read the blog on Notions... please click…

High Fiber—Sunny Days

This week started off with the usual activities, mostly indoor because we’ve been getting a lot of rain. Toward the end of the week, we noticed that Sunny seemed to be breathing harder than usual. By Saturday, it had worsened so much that we took her to the vet. An X-ray showed a lot of fluid in her chest, but not in her lungs. The vet sent us to an animal…

Lesson learned...

My MIL passed about four years ago. There were a couple of boxes that the hubby and brother said had some glassware in it. Why would I not check the boxes seeing that two guys packed it....

I have been asking around if anyone wanted some older stemware. I have what I want. Apparently, everyone else has what they want...so, was headed to good will. I decided to open the one box...OMG...I had never seen this set. The newspaper around it was dated 40 yrs ago.…

I'm baaaack

What a wild couple of months! I checked in when I could but that wasn't often. I was held captive by a two year old for over a month. What a cutie! I didn't try to escape.

When I finally returned home, it was just in time for quilt retreat. Eight hours after returning from retreat, my BFF and I headed to Paducah--her quilt was in the show. We always said we'd go together if such a thing should happen. Very exciting and lots of amazing quilts.

Three days after I returned home, I…

Clemson U quilt top

I don't know why it's so hard to get a good picture of this quilt.  Maybe it's the colors?  Anyway, here is the completed top.  It's the size of my full size bed with just a little overhang, 60"X80".  I've set it aside for the time being and had to complete something of mine.  A UFO started over 2 years ago, this table runner which by coincidence also has…

What to do with left over sock yarn?

Back in October 2015 Peggy posted a photo of a Busy Bee Throw that she was working on and it gave me the bright idea of how to use up all the left over sock yarn I’ve been hoarding for the last 10 years or so.  As I may have mentioned – I knit socks.  A lot of socks.  So I have dozens and dozens of little balls of left over yarn. Waste not, want not, says I. Over the years I have used some of the little left overs and made socks that poor, long suffering DH has worn – his socks of many…

Shared sadness...

Yesterday, was a very sad day for our family. My brother passed away after a brief illness. Jim was the brother that many of you generously sent Christmas cards to him and his housemates. Jim was diagnosed with stage 3 dementia in Feb. He fell and hit his head which cause a massive stroke. We are thankful that he did not have to live with dementia long...

Thank you again for all the cards that were sent to the "boys". It certainly made a difference in their lives. My brother was able…

High Fiber—Farewells and Goodbyes

We said goodbye to the Knitting Community yesterday. And my page:

I have such fond memories of the years on the Knitting Community and special friends, some of whom I have no way of communicating with again (Susan, Marty, Judith), as well as some I'm still in touch with even daily.

On the bright side, we have …

Do you all remember those old ladies who always said.....

In my day we wouldn't be       (fill in the blank)        ?   Well I think I have turned in to one of them.  For the life of me I can't figure out why in the world parents would allow their teenage daughters to attend a high school prom wearing a lot of the dresses you see today.  My goodness.  My dad would have grounded me for a month if I had even tried to leave the house wearing some of those dresses.  I know times have changed, but this is…
