My friend Joanie crossed over the Rainbow Bridge Saturday night.
As part of my commitment to finishing older UFOs, I looked through the drawers of an entertainment center I have in my sewing room to see what I could find that could be finished fairly quickly. This was a New Year's Eve mystery from 2003 & was supposed to be 4 placemats with a log cabin block on one end & a plain block with an appliqued daisy in a flower pot on the other. I had only made the 4 log cabin blocks so I decided to make 4 more log cabin blocks plus put a plain block in…Continue
My daughter decided 2 years ago to go back to school to get her Associates Degree. She has been a single mother since her 2 boys were very young so it was not always easy to work & go to school, but her dad & I are very proud of her for sticking with it. We are encouraging her to continue on to get at least a 4 yr degree. She will officially graduate on Friday night & her oldest son will graduate from high school on Sunday. I gave her this flag quilt as a symbol that we can…Continue

I used quilting gift wrap I had purchased at a quilt show, the design is by Jennifer Chiaverini....Elm Creek Quilts, Loyal Union Sampler. (I have read all the books in the…Continue
I had the opportunity recently to take a free motion quilt class. It was a fun day. I still have a lot to learn but did pretty good for a beginner. I didn't know you had to lower your feed dogs and pull the bobbin thread up. A little knowledge makes things much easier. I joined the Quilters Guild a couple of months ago. Now I belong to three sewing groups.
Yesterday I decided to tear up my little garden spot so I can re-plant and add new plants. I'm so sore today I…Continue

She carried the quilt top all over the different places she has lived, even after divorce. When I started quilting, she asked me to quilt it for her to give to her oldest son. It felt like…Continue
One week ago today it snowed.
The next day was Dusty's birthday. I was afraid it would be too muddy at Run-A-Muk dog park, but it wasn't too bad, in spite of the snow the day…Continue
