A couple of us are looking for help with stains on antique quilts. I have a quilt from the 30's that has yellow stains on it and Lauren has a quilt that has rust spots. My quilt I know is not that expensive but it came from my grandmother's house and I was just trying to clean it. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks- Robin

Went to the mailbox and a package from Linda Richards was there with bead bags and a very sweet gift for me...a quilted purse kleenex holder! Can't tell you how badly I needed that! You'd think someone in this house could whip one up! Great big hug to Linda for helping the kids out! Canadian Quilters rock!

Thank you all for the comments and I allowed my DH to take me to the door of my sewing/quilting room and leave me there. He has made me coffee and saw to it that I stopped to eat. The sun is shining and it is a much brighter day. Thanks!!!!

I just had to laugh, my dd called me yesterday to say she got the stuff I made for the little girls and she had the 4 year old put on her top and after doing so Charlotte said "I don't like Blue". She likes Green and I know that but that didn't come in Green but she did like the buttons and can undo them easy as I made the holes a little bigger just for her and it looks cute on her, she posted a pic on FaceBook for all to see. Margaret's dress is a tad bit big and long but will be OK I… Continue

I had the pleasure of meeting Terry F/Nedrow this morning. She invited me to see her playrooms...Yes, she has two sewing rooms with every quilter's toy you can want. It was fun to share some ideas and she answered a lot of questions for me. Terry also sent me home with a stack of bags for the children's hospital! Thanks again for a fun morning and a new friendship!…

I'm ready to add sashing to a crib quilt I'm making. Got the squares pinned up on the design wall; stuck both options for the sashing behind/between some of them but can't decide which one works best. DH says "Red" (his fav. color) and I say "Blue" (my fav. color) lol so I'm going to need some more opinions. HELP!

Don't worry no quilts got harmed (or dirty) during this photoshoot. There was a bug on it at one point but I shooed him off and told him to go find his own quilt. Melissa and I tramped out through the meadow next to our building to take this… Continue

It was a gorgeous morning in Montana. Bernie aka"Goofy", Reina, Jerry and I took a walk down our drive. Thought it appropriate to take a picture at
our rock which sits above our circular drive. Forgot our bear spray but we didn't see any wild animals. Not sure how many wild animals were watching us though....judy

Thank you ladies for my birthday wishes, I had a very nice birthday with my DH...I haven't been online for a while...My youngest was graduating from high school, and I had some minor surgery to remove some knots on my arm and such...but all the news was good, still recovering a bit with some tenderness in the muscle but everything was fine...right after graduation, we had a vac. shutdown time at my hubby's work so everything conspired against computer time.....but things are startiing to get… Continue

I am so glad to close the chapter on this month! I am praying that July will bring much better memories & more happiness than June did. I've been working on my blocks of the month that our quilt group has been doing, and I'm almost caught up, I've got 1 block left & then to get the background chosen. We aren't meeting until Sept., so I've got a little time. I'm also trying to get some days of the week tea towels hand embroidered for a friends brithday that is coming up on the 23rd of… Continue

It has been a busy summer and it has just started. I am trying to get my business up and running and that has been a real hoot. Also, I have been trying to get ufo done, so I can start classes in September. I have been asked to give private quilt lesson, and I think I have 2 people lined up already. Now I just have to figure out how much to charge. I have my pattern picked out and some other things about ready to go. I just need to make the wall hanging so I know how to put it… Continue

Mine was not that great as one of my Mom's sisters died on Friday and they had to wait for her son and grandsons to arrive from out of state- so they had a wake and funeral all day today. I left home early this morning and only got back about 8:30 p.m.. It was a nasty day filled with rain and not a very happy day but I have had a lot of birthday wishes from my quilting buddies and that makes it bearable. I Thank You each and everyone for the wishes and look forward to getting to do the… Continue

I just received my first Conneting Threads catalog and found so many things I just love and can hardly wait until I get my first order which I just made. There are some beautiful quilts and things here in UFO's, and yes I have some too. Am going to finish my granddaughters quilt then I will post it and then work on some other things. You all give me encouragement to get them done and then start another project. Love making pillowcases of which I donate to ConKerr Cancer for kids. I am a cancer… Continue

I'm losing my mind.... I drove all the way to Hershey PA about an hour and a half, to go to Quilt Oddessy, got my mom out of the car, into her wheelchair, walked around Hershey Lodge, didn't find anything, went to the desk to ask, and they promptly informed me that it is next month. I said okay, I'll see you next month.
Mom and I had a nice visit.......
