I have been asked by a friend to make her a quilted kindle cover and as I do not own one myself it is difficult to know the dimensions to use to make this. Can anyone help please :)

Does anyone know how to clean a quilt that has mold on it? My daughter's storage building flooded and a box with two quilts I made her got wet--the Dallas heat produced some mold on them while she and her new husband were in Hawaii!
I would appreciate any advice.

I'm just going to throw this out there in case anyone has been cleaning quilting closets and happens to have this in their stash.
I'm looking for the premarked background pack for C. Jean Horst's Heart of Roses quilt. I have the pattern book, but the premarked background fabric is no longer available. Because I'm basically lazy, my least favorite part of hand quilting is the marking. :)
I've e-mailed Jean and the…

I just received 2 new books I ordered:
"Threadpainting Made Easy", by Terry White
"Couture Sewing Techniques, revised and updated", by Claire Shaeffer
I've only had a chance to quickly flip through them today, but plan to start reading them over the next few days. I think both will be a big help to me based on what I'm seeing so far. I'll let you know more of what I think about each of them as I read them...more on these books very soon.

I haven't had any jobs for a couple of months then all of a sudden I got several. I got two quilts to quilt and a couple of embroidery jobs. First the week started off with having to take my daughter to the hospital. She checked herself in which was a good thing because mentally she was really bad. Her meds were off and it really took it toll. Now they have changed them and she seems to be doing better. I get the first quilt on the frame and the batting is too narrow and I have to call…

Hi. I've just started on Online Quilts of Valor group through Facebook. You must have Facebook acct to participate but its easy to sign up and its free.
Once you have your account, type Inland Northwest Virtual Quilts of Valor into the search box. Note - at this point, nothing really comes up. Then, look toward the left hand side of the page and click on the gold flag/pages icon. The name of the group will then come up and if you click like, you are joined. I will be sending out…

Any and all ideas about how to remove rust stains from pins left in fabric for too long would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I love the way this is starting to look! I only have the first two branches of the vine done. This is the top right corner. A flower goes over the spot where the three branches come together.…

Here's the deal.. I've been eyeballing this machine for some months. Yes I've read the reviews and even though the bad out weigh the good, I broke down and purchased it. Yup I made sure I could return it if I wasn't satisfied with it. Last nite, I again read the reviews, tips, tricks and watched a couple of videos. Seems like it will take a little getting use to but with all new gadgets and gizmo's isn't that always the case? I haven't had time to sit and even take it out of the box but that…

I've been reading the blogs off and on today and it seems like everyone is getting things done. Not to be left out, I was up early and decided that today was the day to finish piecing my blocks together. I only needed four more to finish the top of the quilt and will cut and add just a simple border for this quilt.
