I've been trying to finish projects I'll need for the trip we're taking next week, like the Navy iPad Tote Bag.…

This quilt is based on a Sudoku puzzle and is the second one I have made. I am tying the first one now so it is taking longer. I think they are a lot of fun and I am always tempted to start another one even though I have piles of UFOs begging to be worked on. In a Sudoku quilt (or puzzle) the same single fabric (or number) may not appear twice in the same row, column or in any of the nine blocks. The first photo is the back; the second is the front of the quilt.…

I have been in a few swaps all over the internet a couple of them have been with mini quilts. I have made a couple and got a couple in between that are just lovely I thought I would share them I do have a mini group here that really had gone dormant but the slide show is amazing if anyone would like to see you may have to make yourself a member to see them I had done it that way and now wish I could change it. but not sure how.
The Redwork was for making a mini before 1910 so I went…

My youngest grandson is 10 yrs old (will be 11 in Sept.) He is a kid who has never really had a fear of anything (not always such a good thing), but due to that he has loved to ride motorized scooters since he was little bitty. Last yr he took his own birthday money & bought a nice one for himself to the tune of $115.00. The other day he was at a skate park in Las Vegas and he fell over while riding it. Three teenagers came up & pretended to help him get up. Instead of helping…

I leave in the morning, first thing to head to Quilt Wyoming--our state quilt guild convention travels around the state. This year it's a maybe a five/six hour drive. So, we're leaving a day early and starting in the opposite direction to shop hop along the way. By tomorrow night we will have traveled many miles, over the mountains and back, so Thursday we'll start driving only slightly further away from our destination than we would if we drove from home.
Quilters are wacky. I think…

We are in Quakertown, PA. Hubby is in meetings, so decided to ask a couple other spouses if they wanted to go antiquing. I have met them at cocktail parties, but that's always stuffy. We are cruising the backroads to this shop when we came upon a farm with this sign!!! So, I pull in. Their eyes got a big as saucers. I just have to check out what self service is all…

I have an internet friend who lives in Australia. She and her husband have become active at an animal rescue sanctuary that is in desperate need of funds to help all of the animals they try to take care of. So I offered to send them a quilt to be either raffled or auctioned off. So my question to all of you is this: Should I remove the label that I currently have on the back of the quilt that gives my name, the name of the quilt, the name of the group of ladies who made the blocks &…

I've been trying to get "back into" quilting after a brief start and a long absence. I have a Pfaff Grand Quilter (midarm) machine on a Grace frame. To use with it I have a (red box) Quilter's Cruise Control. Even tho I haven't used it a friend has, so I know that everything is (was?) in working order. Problem is the O rings for the CC rotted off. I have new ones but cannot for the life of me figure out where or how they go on!!! The contact person - email -…

I received the quilt on the left from my grandmother in 1958 when my first son was born. I used it with all four of my babies. Washed it many, many times in a wringer washer and hung it outside on the clothesline to dry. My grandmother hand appliqued the pieces on, hand embroidered the bonnets with fancy stitches, and quilted the whole thing by hand. She put the binding on by…

I finished hand stitching down the back of the binding on this wallhanging today while I was also machine embroidering. I like being able to work on 2 different needlework projects at the same time. The blocks in this wallhanging were part of an exchange with a Yahoo quilting group I belonged to years ago. I believe these were made in 2004 or 2005. A couple of yrs ago I finally put them in to a top and now I can actually enjoy them. The fabrics are really fall type fabrics, but I might…

I have been working diligently to use up a lot of the batting scraps I have accumulated over the years. I just finished piecing one that used up seven pieces and I had to sew seven seams to get it to the size I needed, which was only 48" x 60". I even used one piece of warm and white and one piece of Hobb's 80/20 with the rest of the warm and natural. Wonder if I will notice a difference where the Hobbs bat is after it is quilted and washed.
Even with all these pieces used, I…

Finally started my Dear Jane; I guess I'm now called a Janeiac. While making some of these blocks I felt like a maniac. A couple of the blocks I made a mistake and left it; no one will know that they aren't exactly as Jane's. I didn't use just piecing technique; also used paper piecing and machine applique. Some days I wish I never started but most days I'm glad I did. …

The other day I posted a message about this festival to see if anyone on here was going. Just wanted to let you all know that this was by far one of the best quilt shows I have ever been to. Considering this was their 1st yr I think that is quite an accomplishment. There were about 700 quilts and 100 vendors. There was also a special exhibit of traveling quilts where each one represented a song of the Beatles. They were all just great. If anyone lives fairly close, I would highly…
