Returned from a visit to Virginia to see my dad who is in the end stages of Alzheimers. Had a nice visit and even had my son drive from Maryland to see his granddad. That was a nice surprise. It took 2 days to get there and 2 days to get back so our visit lasted only 3 days in order to give hubby a chance to rest before he goes back to work on Monday and his sister and mom arrive from Arizona.
When we returned, our neighbor greeted me with a box and I thought they were my text books…

Well the month of July went by very quickly and so much did get done. (see past postings) I've entered 11 entries into the Creative Arts for Home and Hobby exhibit which is part of the NJ State Fair, Sussex County Farm and Horse show to open Aug 5th - 14th. I'm involved with securing monitors to help protect the exhibit. So far I've completed that task to the best of my ability. Evening commitments have been a bit of a challenge however.
Anyway, this week will be a continuation of…

I survived the Long Beach show!
I did buy a new sewing machine (the last thing my daughter said to me before I left was, "And don't buy any more sewing machines - you have enough!" lol. I bought my last one - my Pfaff - at the Long Beach show several years ago. Who can pass up a deal? !!!
And I also bought a YoYo maker, since so many of you told me you Loved them!~ lol.
I have pics on my blogsite of some patterns by a company that was getting a lot…

Well after weeks of hunting I finally found my camera photo transfer cable. Now I'm able to transfer and share some of my pictures of our local quilt show held last month. A month or two ago I saw the darn thing and told myself, "what a safe place for my cord"...and then promptly walked away and got my fingers into something else. So a few weeks ago when I went to download my quilt show photos, my cord wasn't were I left it and things started to get hectic. I needed that cord. …

Summer is sure winding down fast, a couple of months and the fall weather will be hitting this area. On the whole we have had a pretty good Summer. I thank God that we don't get that unmerciful heat that some of you are getting.
I posted a picture yesterday on my page of an anniversary cake that I made for my cousin and his wife's 50th wedding anniversary. It seems to never fail that someone else always asks if I will make a cake for them. Yesterday a lady wanted me to make her a…

This one ate my lunch....grin. I couldn't get my foundation pattern to print out so I made my own. That was interesting. Nevertheless, it's not perfect but finished.
Tried again to post the picture with my blog post, but it just kept spinning. It's on my page if you want to take a look.

The spring/summer weather has finally arrived in the NW. Translation: I'm not having to wear a coat to work in the mornings! I do love the sunny weather and spend as much time as I can outside but I do have limits. The afternoon sun comes through the living room window from about 3 in the afternoon until sunset. Yes that does make the living room warm and even at times stuffy but my complaint is not being able to see the TV wihile I'm working on the next quilt. I've used my quilts before…
Continueas summer decided to take an extended holiday from his duties, I felt I needed something else to gladden my heart and warm my spirit... This is what I came up with: a fabric bowl made with the help of a balloon, a lot of scraps and a fabric medium to harden the…

No, I'm not talking about Little Joe Cartwright (LOL). Our great niece is soon to be 5. I made her a pillowcase that I'll give her with a book, "The Very Fairy Princess".…

wooo hooo just finished this one a few minutes ago. It's for our now 3 1/2 yr old great granddaughter and it's almost identical to the one I made for our other great gd; they will both receive them for Christmas this year along with co-ordinating pillowcases.
Tomorrow I'll…

Well, it's quilted and wrapped and ready to give. The binding is not on it so I will ask for it back. The shower is tomorrow and I am really excited. I just know that my son and his future wife will love it.
Here is a photo of the beautiful quilting my friend Debbie did...
There are…

My daughter doesn't quilt, but she does amazing counted cross stitch. Way back when, she started this series of calendar snowmen. It took a while - she got a master's, husband, and baby in the meantime but they are all finished and she asked if I could sash them into a quilt. It turned out so cute I had to share.…
