Hi Ladies (& gents)
I am so very jealous of you all right now. It seems some how each one of you get to spend lots more time not only quilting, but traveling to quilt stores, finding wonderful "stuff" and spending your time making so many beautiful quilts, pillows, etc. You see, right now, I have to ban myself from quilt shops, as money is a problem. So since I am now only working part time, I am trying to pick up a second part time job and have just finished three very long…

On his last trip through the area (meaning in the vicinity of 200 miles), we brought DS's vehicle home to be worked on and he took our vehicle back to his summer ranch job in Utah. This past weekend we drove his now-fixed pickup out to Utah and brought ours home. We were able to spend a couple of days with him, see the country where he's been working, and some places between here and there that we'd never seen before.
We're not great travelers, so we don't always do the touristy…

Went shopping with the BFFs yesterday. Wanted to check out a few new country stores in the county. This is a scene at one of the cute places. It made me take a second glance. She sure gave us a giggle!…

With the end of Tour de Fleece (TdF), most of the participants have moved on (or back) to other projects.
One of the projects I returned to was the pillow covers, the class project for my Craftsy class, “Floor Loom Weaving.” After the fabric was ready to take off the loom, the next step was to look for…

My husband and I are celebrating our 44th wedding anniversary today. Boy, has time flown. These last few years have been a trial that all people go thru eventually,,, my FIL passed a little over 3 years ago,,, my mom was put in a nursing home in April with early stages of dementia, and my dad is now 91 and living on his own. His baby sister passed in June and that really hit him hard. I cherish each and every day I have my parents with me and my DH by my side.
DD and our 2…

My parents are 83 and still very active. My dad is working in Williston, ND building a water treatment plant for the booming oil fields. My brother is the project manager. The local tv station wanted to do a story about my dad still working at 83... Wished, they would have included my mom. We all know that he could not have done this without a great support system. My mother went to all these places with him, even Saigon. Thanks for letting me brag a little!…

Our annual summer quilt picnic is this evening. It would be so fun if you all were going to be there, too, showing your projects, sharing your experience. I've gotten some prizes ready, so we'll start out with a game, then move on to hot dogs on the grill, along with dishes-to-pass. Next, we go indoors for a couple of quick, silly games, and then sew 'n tell projects. By then it will be time to settle in to working on a project of our own choice, and catching up with the gals for a few…

My son is doing really well since his accident. He still has soreness but even that is subsiding.
Now for the news that will leave you scatching your head. Megan my cousin's granddaughter and her baby are OUT OF THE HOSPITAL. She had a piece of her lung out to remove a bullet. The other 6 bullet holes are healing on their own. Once they took her off life support she started breathing on her own and never stopped. The doctors are totally amazed that she is doing so well. She…

Let's see, where to begin ... okay, got up out of bed at 7 a.m. this morning, first mistake, should have stayed IN bed, LOL. Received call from moving company, truck will be dropping off the trailer between 2 and 5 today. Good gives me more time to get things done. Sent hubby on errands and to pick up scripts. So far, so good.
Hubby comes home with 1 script - wrong item, something I've never taken, wasn't discussed and was NOT what I had asked doc to give script for and where are the…

Actually I got back Sunday evening. A week ago--already? Ever since I returned, I've been playing catch up. How can a four day trip be so disruptive? The garden weeds decided that no one was paying attention to them and shot up like Jack's beanstalk. Naughty things.
And also naughty--the birds are camping in the garden and every time a raspberry gets ripe they attack it. I haven't beaten them to a berry yet. I went out into the garden the other day and spooked a baby bunny who hopped…

I made the Travel Tissue Case. It is a free download pattern so you don't have to buy a pattern to make it. It is a great gift and doesn't use much fabric.
This is my first one that I made but I plan on making more. I love that it has the zippered section so you can put your lipstick, credit card and money in it, or any other little…
