Who says an old dog can't learn new tricks? It has only taken me 2 hours but I managed to download pictures of my latest quilt and also some pictures of two totes I made. I am so proud of myself! Now if I could just remember how I did it. I am sure I did it the round about way but I managed all by myself. My kids would be so proud of me!

Dear Readers,
Thanks so much for your continual support of my writing. It’s been twenty years since I started Butterfield Books Inc., and I appreciate your support over two decades!
I have two series in the works right now that I want to tell you about.
Tying the Knot, the first book in the Kansas Quilter Series is already available, and there will be two more books in it. It’s about my great grandmother and her quilts.…

We have been remodeling two bathrooms and I had a new double closet and laundry closet put in our master bedroom this summer. It is finally finishing up and I can get back into my sewing room, which has been the"dump" place for everything! I love the new stack w/d in my master bedroom. No more running up and down stairs.…

I'm feeling pretty good and taking my walks in the morning. The leg still bothers me a bit while sitting but I'm able to do lots of sewing. I have taken pictures but can't post them as something has wiped out my pictures and both email accounts. I haven't bothered to get it fixed yet as my computer man is a friend of mine and he has been super busy all Summer.
For those of you who know Yvonne in Canada, I was talking to her on the phone yesterday. She is super busy with spending…

I just got done redoing my page and what a blast it was! I am a bright color person and I really laid it on. If anyone can't read it please let me know so I can change it. I felt like a little kid with a big box of crayons. It takes so little to make me excited.
Today I plan on taking one more round of quilting stitches on my daughter's quilt and I will finish up the pillow I made her out of the scraps. Then I hope to post some pictures. My next project will be a full sized strip…

I'd like to say that I had something done this past weekend but that isn't so. I came down with burcitis in my shoulder the week before. Major bummer. It was bad enough that I gave in and went to the hospital. I got my perscriptions and off I went. I enjoyed the pain pills, they let me sleep. The anti-inflamatory, not so much. I got sick from those and I had to work as well. My dept. manager was on vacation, another worker already off work for playing with fireworks on the 4th of July,…

While I'm on vacation, I thought I would report on some knitting projects I've made over the years, before I started my blog. For example, this is the first sweater I made for Charlie (my DH).
As long as I've known him, he's been an avid skier. (It's funny; he didn't look like this when I married him.…

Fish fish and more fish…..
He said he was coming for a visit, but he was really coming for the fishing! DS (on the right) and his friend (on the left) caught their limit each day and when they had their possession limit for transporting back to Vancouver Island, I got to stock my freezer with sockeye salmon! Yum! This picture is of their Chinook (Spring Salmon) catch. They were fishing in the Skeena River, the second largest river in B.C., famous for the fishing and of…

Wow! What a week! I always have to start with a photo, so here's Kay's rug:
She based this on a photo she took while on a cruise with her late husband. He helped her with suggestions and was a major contributor to keeping her interested in the project. It has been languishing since he passed away, but…

Our heat wave is over and we’re back to overcast skies and moderate temperatures. We even had what can only be described as a couple of torrential downpours. The woods were tinder dry and forest fires are an ever present worry when the weather is like that, so no one is complaining. But the weather change brought fierce winds. Needless to say, my hanging baskets suffered considerable damage, and the rain pounded my carrots flat. I checked this morning and they seem to have recovered…
