Just when I thought I had a grip on life....

Seems like my life is always throwing me curves.  I finally got my broken arrow quilt top finished with the extra borders. Sorry I don't have a picture of it as it is now packed and going into storage.  Almost a year ago My other half injured his back at work.  He would work, couldn't work for a few months and L and I of course paid wouldn't pay for his time off.  He's been off work now sense April and we are going through the getting paid not getting paid by L and I.  So this has forced us…

Meet the Smileys

A few months ago I machine embroidered the blocks for this little snowman quilt.  Then, as usual, I got distracted & never finished it.  Even though it has been hotter than a cat on a hot tin roof for the past several weeks, I decided to go ahead and get it finished.  I layered the 3 layers & then quilted it on my embroidery machine by adding the snowflakes.  Then I added my quilting using my Pfaff.  My grandson's girlfriend saw it the other day & asked if she could buy it to…

Bed runner

In 2011 I started making blocks from the book "Four Seasons at Minglewood" by Debbie Roberts.  As I am prone to do, I made a few blocks & then went on to other projects.  In the interest of finishing some of these older projects I got out the blocks a few weeks ago & put them up on my design wall & then made a couple more.  Then after giving it more thought I decided to make a bed runner instead of a large wallhanging. It is 20" x 92" so there are 2 blocks hanging off the side…

wallhanging made from ties

I was commissioned to make a wallhanging out of ties by a woman whose father passed away in April just shy of his 93rd birthday.  This was my 1st time doing this so there was definitely a learning curve, but I'm happy with how it turned out.  I will be giving it back to her on Friday.…
