This week I demonstrate using muslin as your base for foundation piecing
. My personal favorite, Crazy Quilt blocks, work really well with the extra layer of fabric so it can hold all those heavy embellishments later. You can also use this method for strippy style quilt blocks. Both are excellent ways to use up… Continue

I've just been alerted that our network is having a site-wide issue with groups and email notifications. Two of our own members have reported issues, either with not receiving email notifications when they are supposed to, or receiving email notifications when they're not supposed to.
The network is working on the problem, but they are behind and have not given me a time estimated. I'll keep you posted.

You may recall the sample squares I won last month--I did a modified stitch and flip to make my "coins" go in squares instead of the Chinese Coin strippy that Teri had done. I also added redwork and an embroidered panel to complete my "big top" look!! Thanks KP for the great squares!!

I'm very VERY new to quilting, but I decided to make my friends daughter (practically my niece) a pillow for her birthday. I was a bit ambitious with my first project, but I think it turned out rather cute. I used a flying geese block that I pulled from the Jitterbug quilt in Layer Cake, Jelly Roll and Charm Quilts by Pam & Nicky Lintott, which you can get here at Connecting Threads. I loved the dominance of… Continue
