Still have not done any sewing.
Mid-June my older daughter was admitted to the hospital with an initial diagnosis of MS. She was not responsive to the treatment so was transfered to a teaching hospital in Portland, She has continued to decline and they have not been able to determine the cause. So now she has been moved to a long-term acute care facility. She is mostly unresponsive. My other daughter and i are going over this weekend to see her - it is about 200 miles west of…

I've been lurking, though, but it has been some time since I've posted here. Still alive and well, busier than I should be! My younger daughter is still waiting for her divorce to go through, my older daughter and her family are dealing with the aftereffects of long-term low-level carbon monoxide poisoning this past winter, my mother has been in and out of the hospital, my sister-in-law is on on life support....well, you get the idea! I have started a long-arm business and it has been going…

My goodness! When I logged on to check an email from a friend I realized that it has been ages since I have posted to my page!! I had no idea! I try to read all of the posts made to my groups but I don't always take the time to comment. I need to change that!
This past year has simply flown by but I can account for my absence.
I have been busy designing and making samples and publishing and selling patterns.
I have done a bit of traveling to see the sights and to…

This project comes from the book Seasons & Reasons to Celebrate.
I collect nativities and thought the one in this book was adorable. Then the idea to take Jesus in the manger and make a Christmas pin popped into my head!
I…

I tried to add pictures to my blog but it didn't work out so I posted them on my page.
I actually made a purse for myself. At guild on Sat. we had a UFO day so I took my purse that I had cut out a few weeks ago out of fabric I got on the Spring Shop Hop. Then on Sunday a lady gave me a piece of fabric she no longer wanted. I squared it up and put a rolled hem on it and I think it made a pretty table topper. Even though these projects were small and "no brainers" I enjoyed doing them. …

Hi, all!
My Minnesota vacation was Wonderful! Now I am looking for lakeshore property so I can spend part of my year there, each year! I managed to be there in between two hot muggy spells - the weather was just about perfect! And I was able to spend time with old friends - two of whom I had not seen for over 20 years - so that was also fun. One artist friend taught me how to throw pots on a pottery wheel (I bought a wheel and kiln a year ago but have not tried them…

The saying I heard as a young mom came to mind today. I would imagine most of you have heard it--and I'm pretty sure you have lived it:
Use it up.
Wear it out.
Make it do.
Do without.
So, I was thinking about how quilters do that. We may or may not be recycling clothes into quilts the way our…
