I have been pretty busy this year making quilts for cash, and quilting other quilter's quilts. I have made several quilts for family and friends as well. I still have quilts to make for 2 more of my three sons(I know...it sounds like an old sitcom), but I already have a good start with most of the blocks already made. I just need to get them put together and quilted.
Joe(my husband) and I have been making progress on my Quilting Cabin. All of the wiring to 20 outlets and 10…

I had hoped to have had this one done a year ago, but better late than never, right? Anyway, Jenna doesn't know anything about it so it won't be late to her. It is a Crabapple Hill pattern called 'Heirloom Romance'. I was going to make it for me but just wasn't getting to it and knew that if I was making it for…

Hello,
I'm new here so hope this works!
I'm working on this quilt top for donation to the local infusion center (given to patients while going thru Chemo). The block is called "On the Plus Side" and I'm using fabrics from the Indigo Patchwork…

Saturday saw nine ladies gather for another successful Quilt ‘til you Wilt in our new location. I had missed the August ‘wilt’ because we were away on holidays, so I missed the Show and Tell, but Lois sent me a couple of photos and I thought Teri's Jack o’Lantern was going to be really cute when finished.…

In place of my regular blog post this week, I decided to hold sort of a celebration of life for my dear friend, who passed away early Thursday after a prolonged illness.
I invited a few people to share their memories of Susan. Most people online who knew her are on The Knitting Community. However, if you're…

CNY is becoming more colorful everyday! Wished it could last longer than a couple of weeks. We have been watching a young eagle feeding off our shoreline. He is gorgeous...picked apples yesterday. The pie is in the oven! …

My DH and I went to a quilt show a few weeks ago. There were a lot of beautiful antique quilts that I enjoyed looking at. And guess what! They were not all perfect. There were mistakes and it made me feel so much better. I don't have to achieve perfection when I quilt. Who knew?
One of the booth's had cutting forms that mystified me. Somehow they held onto the fabric and could be moved without the fabric falling off. Pieces could be cut perfectly. The cutting table was hydraulic and…

This has been a busy week. I don't know if it's the cooler air or the fact that I'm feeling better but I have been like the Energizer Bunny all week. Two days I worked in my sewing room. I organized my fabrics which was a big job in itself and then I took at all the draws. I found things I didn't know I have. I also found things that I pitched in the trash. I have had a drawer full of paint for years. I use to use it, but for the life of me I can't remember what I was using it for. I…

Have been playing and goofing off this week...need to get motivated in the sewing room, but temps have gotten nice again. Leaves are changing...should be gorgeous soon! The BFFs went to see the movie... This Is Where I Leave You. Totally hysterical! We had five gals at 11:30 in the morning. We were the only ones there. It was the first time, I've ever gone that early! We could laugh as loud as we wanted and talk out loud!!! We decided to go grab a pizza and beer after the flick. We told the…

Do you suppose there is any hope to steer this 3 year old imp towards quilting? I'm hoping that if she starts by enjoying playing among fabric first, the desire to create with it will follow. Fingers…

This past weekend nine friends spent three days crafting at the Mechanisburg Crafters Retreat Center. This retreat center is located in Mechanicsburg, PA, just outside of Harrisburg. What a nice little town. Very quaint. We were a group of four quilters, four scrapbookers, and one rug hooker. It was such a great time. Everyone was so productive. The workroom was awesome. It had the best lighting - which is so important when crafting.
The project I chose to concentrate on this past…

My Mr. F. is moving along.
He's still headless, but at least he has arms now. They look rather flabby, though. I need to take him to Silver Sneakers with me so he can lift some weights.
Mr. F. has been a major UFO since 2009, when I got two arms and one leg done (almost) and quit. Now he's…

This is what kept me busy all day Saturday. I still have borders and appliques to sew on. There are 144 hst's in this quilt. I am not sure that I want to make anymore...lol
I had two of my granddaughters over on Sunday. They got to work on the quilts that they have started. Then I just let them sew…

I finished the three ‘Christmas Shopping Bags’ this past week. Amazingly, everything went together really well and there were no ‘oops’ moments if you don’t count the two times I sewed the lining bottoms completely closed and then had to unsew enough to allow for turning the bags right side out. In spite of that, I’m really quite pleased with the end result and I think they look pretty good. I was surprised by how much time they took to make. Somehow, I had the idea that this would be a…
