Today marks the finish of my classic Baltimore, Sweet Journey. Twelve years in the making and many other quilts in between. Baltimores are intense. They require skill, tenacity, and one becomes devoted to them. My journey started with a trip to Houston Quilt Festival in 2003. Elly Sienkiewicz was given the Silver Star award for her contribution to the quilting community and there were many Baltimore quilts on display much to my delight. And above it all, the magnificent Samuel…

My husband had a dr's appointment at the VA Hospital in Columbia MO today. On our way out to the parking lot, we started talking to 2 employees who were also leaving. One of them was wearing a t-shirt that had the best phrase on the back & it fits so many people today.
"The results of your IQ test came back negative".
There are so many people I would have to give one of those to. …

We have moved back to our main house…at the lake on weekends. What an awesome summer we had and Fall is starting out gorgeous. Went to a Barn Festival last weekend in Remsen, NY. They close down main street and vendors sit up their booths. Not much shopping for us... but the homemade soups and local food was outstanding! The had a small quilt show, that was lovely.
I have been challenged to learn how to play the Ukulele. There's three couples at the lake that have to make up a song…

Life got a bit hectic shortly after my last post. But things are getting a little better now. My husband was declared legally blind on June 7th of this year due to a rare genetic eye disease called Retinitis pigmentosa. He can no longer drive and has applied for disability.
I'm training to be a dispatcher at the Stroud Police Dept. It's great because it's across the intersection from my house. I will be taking my OLETS certification test on Oct 12.
As for quilting, I go…

As some of you know, my daughter & her 2 boys live with us. The boys are 15 & just shy of 17. I swear the 17 yr old is an accident looking for a place to happen. He is the one who broke his right ankle on Super Bowl Sunday while playing ball with his dad & his brother. Now today he decided the genius thing to do was ride in the back of his friend's pickup. Needless to say, his friend was going too fast around a curve on a gravel road & Mike was flung out. The 3 other kids…

Shortly after returning from a quick visit in Seattle with #1 son, I was expecting my Swedish "sister" to come for a visit so I had to clean house. Ick. As long as no one disturbs the dust, all is fine. Once I started the cleaning was brutal. She arrived and stayed with us a week before we headed off to our 50th class reunion in Texas. Because the drive wasn't going to be long enough, we added in a side trip to Grand Tetons. Luckily, they contained the fires and reopened the gate south out…

Hey Quilters,
My name is Zach. I work for Quilt EZ. Quilt EZ can upgrade any mid/long arm machine. We can add our Perfect Stitch regulator to it and also our Butler computerized system to them. We do live webinars at least once a month.
The video in this blog is from the past webinar we did. Terri (Oregon Quilt Woman) and Joe (Owner of Quilt EZ) sit down together to go over some of the features of our Butler Robotics System (computerized quilting). Learn how to set…

Hello my quilting friends,
Just stopping by to say hello. My friend Jenny is here from England for a couple of weeks. The sewing machines have been humming. I helped her yesterday make a zig zag table runner. It's been awhile since I made one so it gave my brain a bit of work-out trying to remember all the steps. But it's done and she loves it.
The end of the week Bud's son is driving up from N.Y. I am in the most bizarre situation. Bud's ex girlfriend whom he hasn't…

Sadly, I didn't win any of the prizes, but I enjoyed making this tablerunner anyway. I very much appreciate the votes that all of you gave to me.

Fall is coming fast! I just mowed yesterday and what leaves there were got chopped up in the mower but when I went outside this morning, more leaves!! Thankfully DH does the leaf collecting duty so sooner rather than later I will be turning the lawn work over to him.
This past week I got some time to make a small table runner for my sister in law who equally loves Halloween as much as I do. She is not into sewing so she asked if she bought the fabric would I make it? No need to ask…

New grandbaby Ian is now over 5 lbs, off all supplemental oxygen, nursing and taking a bottle (both) well. He may be ready to go home next week, but only time will tell. He has come a long way from that 27 gestational wk, 2 1/2 lb preemie. Lots of prayers answered along the way, and we're thankful.
His big…

A couple of weeks ago I uploaded a pic of a tablerunner I entered in to a contest sponsored by Nancy Zieman of Sewing With Nancy fame. The voting starts today & goes through Sunday. I sure would appreciate all of you taking a minute to go to www.NancyZieman.com/blog and voting for my entry. I believe it was entry #43. Winners will be announced on the 20th so I will let you all know if I won a prize. Here is a pic of it:…

OK, I've had a hiatus and absolutely must get back to it...quilting that is. I've been laid up the last two days with a broken toe, yes this is the third time I've smashed the same toe in a year. Pretty clumsy of me. This time I was awoken by a noise, got out of bed, peeked out the window and made my way back and smacked the toe on our bed post which is a huge claw footed mahogany sleigh bed. My DH calls me a cat as I can see more in the dark than he, but on this night I guess I just…

Pam visits Nebraska.
The earth shakes.
Coincidence? Mmmmm I don't think so. If there's excitement to be found (or thought up), Pam is there!

I saw a message on Facebook the other day that Nancy Zieman (Sewing with Nancy) was sponsoring a contest based on tablerunners that remind you of fall. I have lots of fall fabrics so I decided to whip one up and enter it. I believe the voting starts on the 13th & winners will be announced on the 20th. The blocks are machine embroidered designs from Molly Mine.…
