This year as far as quilting goes has been a complete bust. I don't think I have completed one quilt this year.
I am currently quilting a quilt for a friend but that has been it. :( I have made some scarves, a couple of baby outfits and I do have a baby quilt ready to be bound. I just remembered I did quilt a baby quilt for my step daughter's new baby. It was a chevron panel with minky on the back. Cute and super easy.
I think ever since I had to go back to work several…Continue
I wonder, if any of you have had this happen....
We bought a Kenmore stack washer and dryer. The washer was not wanting to go into a full spin. So, I called the service dept. They put me on with a tech expert. She asked, if I was in front of the machine. Yes...she said put the phone an inch away from the start button on the washer...I'm thinking WHAT????? but, I did it. She then had me push another button and wait for three beeps. I'm looking around for candid camera or my hubby…Continue
I haven't been on here in a while, life seems to be getting in the way! Hello, and it is nice to get back on here and visit with everyone! I read the blog whenever I can, so I have been keeping up that way!
I need your help today, though. I am working on a pre-cut Dresden plate quilt. I am having trouble with the flower laying flat, after I have completed it.
I tried two at the…Continue
I had a fabulous time (of course) hanging out with 60 other quilters and laughing and screwing things up and reverse sewing in front of friends. It took me two days to get the little sweaters finished (buttons next) and the binding on the body quilt…Continue
Now 40 years after learning to sew on a machine I am the proud owner of a Singer treadle machine.
The new machine is lovely and in dire need of some loving attention. We have belts on order as hers was in pieces. The owner’s manual as well as the manual for the attachments was in one of the many over flowing drawers. I have them flattening under some heavy…Continue

One of the first signs that winter is just over the horizon here in northern BC is the arrival of the trumpeter swans on the lake. Most winters we have a resident flock of between 50 and 70 that arrive in late October and they don’t leave until mid-April.
When the rain finally stopped, after a continuous two weeks of unrelenting drizzle, interspersed with…Continue
The girl bunny is finished, although I have plans for a sweater to go over her sun dressContinue
I started working on another project almost before I got done with the other one. This one was extremely easy to design and put together. The quilting on top is what is taking forever. I'm embroidering the whole top in some form or fashion. It depends on the square. This one is called Spiral Square. Here's a closeup of what I worked on today. I love how…Continue
I have finally been able to work on some creative endeavors. Thought I would post a few pictures, nothing earth shattering, just being glad to be able to do something positive for a change.
I was able to finish a UFO that I had started in 2002. When my husband, Frank, passed away, I had put it aside. Now seemed like a good time to finish it. I did the quilting on my new mid-arm and was surprised at just how quickly it seemed to get finished. The picture is before I put the binding on…Continue
This past week has been a sort of see-saw weather; it was cloudy and cold, and quite dismal. On Wednesday the sky opened up and gave us a torrential rain, why here in New England and not in California! Then I learned on the news that it was a Northeaster - which usually gives us 24-36 inches of snow when it comes during winter. At least the rain didn't accumulate, although the brooks and streams are really flowing this time. Gotta love New England weather, it's still kind of warm that…Continue

Did anyone get an email that said, spam -Quilt With Us? I did, but deleted it as I didn't think it looked right. Where the senders name would be it just said spam. I'm sick of calls also. Wanting to fix my computer and other nonsense. And I will also be glad when elections are over and the phone calls cease. I feel that these calls are an invasion of privacy and should not be allowed. I would like to know where they get out cell phone #. I didn't think these numbers were published. …Continue
We are awfully quiet...we need to check in ladies and gents.
I just finished making four hot pads that will match my Thanksgiving tablecloth. I like them to be the size of large mug rugs so they don't cover up the design! So, I make them the size of the bottom of the bowls. I always do Thanksgiving, because I'm the only one in the family that knows how to cook! My parents are good cooks, but they are in Fl. This is one meal that everything has to be from scratch. I also like to…Continue
Greetings from New York! I told you I’d still be around! I’m super excited for my newest collection – Yosemite…
We have a quilt retreat in the fall and the spring. No classes, just do your own thing. I seem to have tons of hand projects including 3 knitting projects--2 sweaters and a demented chicken. A binding. Some applique. A UFO. I know there's a lot more than that in the car. Gads, short term memory loss. I've been packing for days. I'll try to get some project pictures.
I hope you have fun too.
