There's nothing more uncomfortable than reading from the iPad for any length of time. So, started looking on you tube for a pillow pattern for an iPad. I changed a few things on this one…but, am pleased how it came out. I am making them for the grandsons' mini-ipads and one for me and my friends!!!
I quilted the cotton fabric to give it more heft and will be more…Continue
Buddy's sweater vest is done, and Dude's is on the needles.
It's been a hectic fall around here. I started back to work (at the middle school) on Sept. 6 after a somewhat relaxing summer. The Saturday after school started, Sept 10, I was home with my youngest son. The breaker for the washing machine flipped off, there was no wash going at the time, I reset it only to have it flip off again. My husband was out working on the shop he's building but happened to come into the house for a drink of water. At that point, the…Continue
My friend Dawn Heese with Linen Closet Designs has started designing cute little projects that resemble shopping tags. I bought this one & another one that looks like a bouquet of tulips from her at a quilt show a couple of weeks ago. I just really felt the urge to get this one done. It is about 14" x 22" and doesn't require any quilting as it is fused to the backing. I have it hanging on the wall in my kitchen right now, but this pic shows it laying on my sewing room floor. These…Continue
I see it’s been just over 2 months since I last posted here. And I also see that I had already admitted to having a not very productive summer. I’m afraid that it continued into the month of September, but I have finally settled down to some sewing.
I spent a week in Victoria at the end of September, helping to celebrate Sophia’s second birthday, and marvelled at how she has grown and changed in the past year. She’s a very busy little girl, and her parents end each day quite…Continue

My DH and I love books! We've moved so many times over the years, I can hardly count. But, one thing we never get rid of are our books. We can sift through everything else to lighten our load, no problem, but…Continue

Moms house is done, well it was done back in August, finally, and up for sale. It was actually sold twice but the deals didn't go threw. Such is life. It is once again sold even though we still have a few things to do according to the inspection report we just got but they will be manageable, I hope. So now that I have a little breathing room I started taking a long look at my house. I guess I ended up with a few more things of moms than I realized. I've had this box sitting on the…Continue
I hope that none of our QWU members are experiencing problems due to the severe hurricane that is hitting the east coast. If you are, here is sending positive thoughts your way that you don't sustain any injuries or damage to your property. I can't get over how some people refuse to evacuate when there is a storm of this severity heading their way. At least with a hurricane you have enough time to get to safety. That is not always the case with a tornado.
We have been married for 42 yrs today.! Life is Good.! We are celebrating it in Tennessee at Pigeon Forge.
Not sure how we got here, in years,,,but it has been a lot of work and a lot of fun...!
We sure are blessed, and we are better now…Continue

Well, I've made slow progress on my UFO's. I finished #2 blue jean strip rag rug and is now by the back door and looks amazing. After cleaning my machine of all the jean threads and dust/lint, I swiftly moved on to the next, improv strips (meaning cut with scissors and no ruler) from my scrap bag which are cut into 60 degree triangles and resewn into rows. This will be a…Continue
