I can't believe I haven't been on the sight for about two weeks now. I am sure I have missed so much. I have two more nights of school and had a project due tomorrow that I just finished. So between that and the Thanksgiving week which we spent in Texas, I haven't given QWU the attention it needs. Maybe once our move is complete and school is over I can sit around on the computer more. Hope everyone is doing well.

Tis the season to be busy. When I think of all I have to do I feel ,ok "bogged" down is the right word. I think. My mind is so full of things to do that I can't think. Then I stop to think of all the Joy of the season. Going to candle light services on Christmas eve. I miss the school Christmas program that started my Christmas joy. Maybe I might miss that white stuff? Could it be? I try to tell myself it can't be. But it makes everything look pretty . It is a pain to drive in. and can be a… Continue

Has anyone done much quilting as you go. I have tried to, but everytime the sample project that I'm working on doesn't seem to turn out right. Any tricks to having a successful outcome.

Good morning! It's impossible, but true, this is the last day of November. How did that happen? I've been running around like a crazy person. Of course, since I'm a crazy person, that's not exactly a news item. LOL
My husband left yesterday morning for an out of state funeral and I spent the whole day playing in my sewing room. I painted on fabric for a while but didn't like the way that was looking so put it away. I'm trying to design a challenge quilt and the fabrics are not speaking to… Continue

Since many of you asked for a pattern.....here is what I used. First I must say that not all post it notes are equal. Some generic ones are different in depth so be sure to measure the ones you have and change the numbers to work for you. Aslo I added the original photos so you won't have to search in previous posts for them. If you make one in wool please let me know how it turns out. Oh, and you must share your's with us too.
I used double sided card stock and… Continue

I'd like to thank everyone for their notes on the arrival of the yorkie puppies. Sadly we have lost one of the little girls. I don't know what happened to her. I know that the mother dog as with many other animals can sence when there is something wrong with the baby and will not feed the baby. This one was a little different, mom was attentive to the end. We do still have the three other puppies and they appear to be very healthy.
And because life goes on, I have been in search of some… Continue

I just finished my 2nd Christmas postcard. This time I experimented w/embroidering lettering on the back & am thrilled with how good that turned out. Sure beats trying not to mess up the entire project with my less than stellar handwriting!…

It was a great day for a baptism...Older brother(3) was the star...after being told to shush and use his inside voice, he figured it out real quick that he had the floor! Shushed the priest...which I never thought that priest would crack a smile...but Riley had him. Luckily it was a private ceremony. When he decided that he might like to try jumping from the top step of the alter to the bottom...it was time to exit! It was just so nice to have… Continue

What am I thankful for? A question we always ask ourselves over this past holiday and today I can truly give an answer: I'm thankful to be HOME.............Alive! We went to our son's girlfriends parents house about 3 hours from here and it took 5 hrs to get there and 4 hrs to get home. We used to live in that area and moved away in 1990 and I'm so glad now as the traffic there is horrible. I was… Continue

Yesterday I posted that my wallet was found. Yes, my drivers license and family photos were in it! My (canceled) debit cards and cash were missing, but that was it. I received the phone call from a place that I knew of as a liquor store, the employee told me it was found by somebody by their garbage cans near their dumpsters. Turns out it wasn't a liquor store, but a bar that shared the same name as the liquor store, AND it was found two blocks from where it was stolen. My DH and I scoured the… Continue

Hello everyone. A happy note to share with everyone. We have finally had a litter of puppies. I came home from work to find one under the coffee table and another in the bedroom. Having gotten mom and the puppies into one location she had two more. We have 4 adorable yorkies, 3 girls 1 boy. all are doing fine. I could have sworn we were going to have a football team here sence mom was getting soooooo big. I have posted pictures of the hand full on my page.

Just finished my Hunter Star Christmas Wall hanging and sent it off to be long arm quilted. I'm teaching two classes of this in the spring. But first I get to hang it up for Christmas will take a photo of it when it comes back and is bound.
It's beginning to feel a bit like Christmas- Christmas songs are in the stores. Only a few more gifts to make and I will be trying to get things wrapped. Trying to get my annual Christmas Letter off.
Glad to be over the flu so maybe I can get back… Continue

We came home a day early as we ate some smoked turkey that wasn't done. It is probably just as well as my DH doesn't like to be away from home too long. I did get up at 3:30 yesterday morning to go shopping with my DIL and her sister and niece. I did get all my Christmas shopping done, so now I don't have to hit the crowds at home. The next few weeks until christmas will be very busy. I have my sewing gifts to get done and then I have some medical test done next week. Also have doctors… Continue

One of my friends suggested I go ahead and post a pic of a postcard I did yesterday on my embroidery machine to the whole blog so here it is. This design can be found at The Embroidery LIbrary site (http://www.emblibrary.com
). Originally I only purchased 2 in case I decided I didn't care for them, but now I'm going to go back & get the rest cuz they are so much fun to make! Plus they are a great way to use up scraps.…

I want to thank each and every one of you that responded to my prayer request for my stolen purse. Your kindness just brought tears to my eyes. Yesterday I went to the bank to have them cancel my debit cards and I have no credit cards, but I also had to cancel and get new library and video store cards. I just received a phone call that my wallet was found (minus my debit cards) in the dumpster by a liquor store! I asked the employee if the wallet was the only thing they found… Continue

Got the final stitches in the binding done on Thanksgiving, while letting the turkey get "settled". This is for our youngest son. I'm hanging on to it for a while as I am going to put it in a quilt show in March before handing it over to him - LOL. He's had a lot of crossroads in his young life (he's 24). Some he made good… Continue
